I detest TAG Heuer, although the Classics collection, of which the Carrera is a member, is probably the least objectionable. Â The non-chronograph Carrera just strikes me as blah, however. Â What kind of watch are you looking for? Â Dress, sport, or something in between?

Dunhill was originally a leather company specialising in harnesses and driving accessories and car parts. But you seem to like Dunhill ties and suits just fine (none of which are made "in house" I understand. Why the aversion to Dunhill watches then? The designs are certainly consistent with the overall Dunhill aesthetic.

I have no tie or suits from Dunhill so i have no idea what they worth. If Dunhill's ties were made by a good tiemaker but sold at a cheaper pirce than this tiemaker i would say they are good ties to buy. If Dunhill's watches were made by a good watchmaker in the same range of price (Baume&Mercier, Cartier...) but sold at a lower price, I would say they are good to buy. I don't know who makes their watches but i know they are rather ugly and otherpriced and most of them are quartz.

Just to make the normal people feel better:
* Maurice Lacroix, gold/steel (quartz)
* Swatch (Iron?) in stainless
* Ken Cole tank watch that looks cool
* Rolex fake w/mechanical movement from Thailand
Wear the Swatch on most days but use the Ken Cole or the Lacroix when dressed up.

Hamilton 1950s
Omega 1960s This watch needs a case. In 1980 when gold was around $600 per ounce (I think..) I sold the watches 18k case in an emergency while traveling in India. The watch was $300 new and I got around $600 for the back. Now I am looking to find the case.
