Secret to going sockless? - Page 4

I've been in my boat shoes all day sockless in 80+ degree heat. A little powder this morning did the trick. They've been comfortable all day.

I got my big toe DESTROIED by a pair of eg's by going sockless. I shall try the powder. Anything that works best (baby, goldbond, et cetera? Also, does powdering your feet or the shoe work better?

I agree.

The weather's just getting warm, so it's time to build those calluses. Wear the shoes in short intervals.

By early May we'll be going sockless in comfort and style

Can the socks be seen with the shoes on?

+1 and another reason not to go sockless

There are now tons of places that sell no show socks for mens dress shoes, AKA loafer socks. Living in Florida, I hate a hot sock on my foot and legs, so I either go sockless or wear a no show loafer sock with my dress shoes. I have seen no show mens loafer socks all over lately. Macys, Nordstrom, Banana Republic, Johnston and Murphy, Payless Shoe Source and others all sell these for mens dress shoes now. Also Gold Toe makes a Gold Toe ADC loafer sock you can find online. These are all cut low and do not show and they stay on. Once a shoe is broken in, I find I can wear it barefoot. A little baby powder does work great. But for a new shoe, wear a no show sock for a while first to break em in.

Didn't want to make a new thread,

what loafer socks would you guys recommend for a guy that wears size 8 shoes. If going sockless(no socks at all) I see that powder is a must and a shoe tree to absorb the moist, anything else?

I want to go sockless with my white bucks, but I've read it can destroy a shoe, what exactly is it that destroys the shoe? smell? the leather?
