I consider the Sweet Tea to be the prime reason to stop at a McDonalds. They actually get a strong enough tea flavor to make it a good product. I believe they are selling a whole lot of it, and at $1 for a big, big, big cup it is not expensive. Plus you can get a refill. I grew up drinking sweet tea all summer and like it.

An alternative for the ones making tea at home is to make sweet tea with a regular dose of tea but include one tea bag of the Constant Comment tea. Pretty interesting taste.

I haven't been to Auburn for several years. Milo's had pretty darned good tea and I would recommend it if you ever get a chance to go there.

FTFY. I'm not suggesting that everyone drinks their tea unsweetened, but a pound of sugar to a gallon of tea is f'ing marsupialed. You might as well just skip the tea and drink a cup of granulated sugar at that point. Ahhhh, refreshing!

I love Sweet tea, and absolutely feel what you're saying. I think I spit it out bc it just did not taste good at all. down here we have this available... and I'm way into it:

If you are able to find it (I had it once in Tennessee or Mississippi on a cartrip) 'Extra Sweet' Lipton (not brisk, but the kind in a glas jar/bottle) is an amazing sweet tea experience IMO.

This is what I drink, and while I am not gonna say its the best out there. For a mass market bottled/canned tea its one of the best. Its for those who like their kidneys to work when their older.

Once I went to some place and ordered some of that unsweetened iced tea you white northerners like, I wanted to punch the server in the face.

The first comment makes me want to punch you in the throat, should we ever meet IRL.

But that second comment is somewhat redemptive.

Problem is McDonald's can't afford a natural sweetener with nutritional value like brown sugar or they'd be out of business real quick. No doubt they use the cheapest form of sweetener available: High fructose corn syrup. But don't worry, it's good for us because the TV commercials (paid for by the corn growers) say it is. Isn't it also great that corn growers continue to receive US Government money to produce this crap. Anyone ever see the documentary King Korn? The more corn they grow, the more money they get. I really can't stand McDonald's because their food has gotten so bad. Even 10 years ago it was palatable, now I feel like I'm eating chemically engineered, lowest-common-denominator "food" in their never-ending attempt to lower costs.

I stopped at McDonald's at 1 AM once because I just came out of a concert and was dehydrating, so I tried this stuff... threw it out after one sip. ****'s nasty.

Ugh... you guys are terrible Southerners. Sweet Tea, REAL sweet tea, should be so sweet that it reaches the saturation point whereby the sugar is no longer soluble in water. THAT'S when you know it's ready to serve. Southern Grandmas concerned about the health of their children and grandchildren will put a few lemon slices in it, too, just so that there is some Vitamin C!

And, yes, you eat it with all sorts of wonderful things, all mostly deep fried and swimming in gravy (country fried steak, home fries, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, country ham, etc.). Vegetables, too, are usually deep fried (squash, okra, green tomatoes, etc.) McD's sweet tea isn't bad, btw. It's not the real deal, of course, but when I get homesick I drive over and get some. In fact, I think I will go get some now. Yummmm
