How quickly do you get ready for work?

Would you try any of these moves on your incotex trousers and kiton ties? I would hope not...though I do use the shoelace trick (Ian's knot) on a daily basis. I won't even go into the blow up doll in bed next to the guy...

How to get up, eat breakfast & get ready for work in 5 minutes.

Anywho, I used to be a speed demon in college, and could shower (10 mins), get dressed (3 mins) and eat a full potato & eggs breakfast (<5 mins..it didn't look pretty) rather quickly. Now, at least from wearing better clothing, especially button up shirts, I tend to take my time more.

So how quickly do you folks get ready for work? Do you give stereotypical Japanese businessman a run for his money?

I am more interested in free time and enjoyment of life than in sleep (other than when I am working on something where I am in the office for 18 hours a day) so I actually like getting up early and taking my time. Plus I feel fine running on 5-6 hours of sleep. When I am working and lets say need to leave my house before 8AM, I usually wake up at 6AM, shower, watch the news, browse the net, handle some errands (it's amazing what you can accomplish when you get up early) make some food, maybe do some stretching/light workout, etc. No stress, no worries, and a lot of "me time". Nights are a lot more hectic with potential to work late, going out, etc. I feel that it actually allows me to have much more control of my life rather than having to jump out of the bad and run run run to the widget factory.

I need an hour if I'm going to dress well.

About an hour here too.

I get up at 5:45 am when im in the office. I shower the night before and then scramble some eggs (which I eat at work), and I'm on the road by 6:10 am (usually). I find I need at least 7 hours of sleep in order to last through the week. I run errands, workout, enjoy myself in the afternoon. I've never been a morning person (rowed in college and had to wake up before 5am), but I would like to take my time a bit more. When I'm going into the field I usually wake up about 1-1:30 horus before I need to leave, and take my time to go online, workout, and eat breakfast.

To do everything I like to do before I get to work? Call it 3 hours. I like to run for 30 minutes, then shower, shave, get dressed, fix a nice breakfast while reading the paper, then head in to work. It's not unusual for me to run errands on the way in, post letters, get the car washed, etc. I like getting to work and being ready to work - most of my co-workers spend about an hour scrounging for breakfast. finishing up getting dressed or just trying to settle in, then spend the rest of the day playing catch-up.

The downside, of course, is I usually go to bed insanely early by Chicago standards.

I usually figure out what I am going to wear the night before. So I piss, take a shower (4-5 minutes), brush teeth/apply deodorant, muss hair for about 3 seconds, tie shoes, grab lunch from fridge, turn off lights and leave. usually I am 2-3 miles down the road 15 minutes after i've gotten out of bed.

That being said, I have little choice in what I wear (work uniform) so I grab khaki pants, and a red top of some sort.

It has taken me more time in the past when I have tried to dress more interestingly shirt & tie with longwings (which I pollished before work ofcourse). I sometimes brew coffee/but usually don't eat until i've been awake for atleast 4 hours as I tend to get nauseous if I don't wait.

My facial hair growing prowess allows me to shave once/twice a week and be okay.

I too lay out my outfit the night before. Wake up, shit, shower and shave, about 20 minutes. Put on my clothes in about 5 minutes and then eat breakfast and prepare lunch, about 30 minutes.

The worst days are when I don't pick out my clothes the night before and don't have any ironed shirts ready to go. I usually don't get to eat breakfast on those days, and lunch ends up being a couple of bananas and a yogurt.

I figure out what I'm wearing the night before. Altogether it takes about 30-40 minutes to get dressed. I get up very early but most of the time before I leave for work is spent walking the dog and enjoying breakfast.

An hour. That let's me easily eat breakfast and watch the morning news, shower and shave, dress, brush my teeth, and leave without rushing. I make my lunch the night before so I don't have that added task.

That was pretty funny watching him put his trousers on. But I tie my tie that quickly (four in hand).

10-45 mins depending on when I wake up.

If I had to push it, I could do 20 minutes. But I generally wake up @ 6:30, run/workout, make breakfast, have coffee, read the paper, etc. I like to enjoy the early morning and some Kwilk time rather than sleep in late and leave in a rush.

I often don't know what I'm going to wear until just before I start dressing, generally it's what I think about while showering.

Up at 6:40, run for about 15m. Shower + grooming, dry hair put clothes on, eat something quick and out the door around 7:35-40ish. @work by 8, takes ~15-20m to get there dep on traffic.
