Morning gym goers

Morning gym goers

I figured this would be a good place to ask this question for the clothing obsessed. I'd like to go to the gym in the morning, but I'm looking for advice on what to use to transport my suit on my 10 minute walk to the gym. Do those of you that go to the gym in the morning simply carry your suit in a cheap garment bag and take it from there? Or do you rent lockers and keep some of your stuff there?

Any recs for a good garment sleeve for this purpose?

Thanks,

I used to use a cloth garment bag for this very purpose. It folded in half, so it was easy to carry along with my gym bag. It eventually wore out and I switched to one of those vinyl garment bags you get from Saks or Neiman Marcus when you buy a jacket or suit there. It worked almost as well.

Thank goodness I don't have to wear a suit to work! But yeah, I would find something that folds in half with a handle, so you can carry it like a breifcase. My suitcase came with a lightweight nylon garment bag like that. But if your walk is only 10 minutes, why not just jog home straight from the gym?! Or walk home as a cool down? I did this for a few years at my local gym, you get to use your own shower and simply show up to the gym in your gym clothes. But I just upgraded to Equinox through work, so I'm working out near the office instead.

I just carry my suit on same hangar it hangs on in my closet. Put my tie and braces on the same hangar as the shirt I'm going to wear that day. Those lay flat in the trunk of my car; I have a convertible so I can't hang them. Underwear and socks go in my shoes which go in my gym bag. Everything goes into a locker at the gym.

I wear my suit and change into my gym clothes there in my locked locker. My gym has a laundry service so they get washed there. Nice I don't have to carry anything. I keep my shaving gear there too and show up at work freshly showered and shaved.

I'm between jobs so I am wearing jeans and polo shirts, I have seen other members who wear suits use a cloth suit bag.

If the gym is only 10 min walk away, why not just make the 10 min walk home and shower and change there?

Perhaps he means that the gym is 10 minutes away from his office.

Could just stay home all together, body weight exercises are the bees knees and free weights aren't that expensive.
