To me, $495 AF would only be worth it if I could recoup that in cashback and rewards

To all with Am Ex CREDIT cards, be careful where you shop as they look at your spending habits and will slash your limit if you shop at certain stores (for example: Walmart). This hasn't happened to me though, luckily

and the green card is more trad/old school.... what other credit card company offers a card that color? it stands out. the gold card looks garish/nouveau riche.

I'm researching the Platinum card now, as I travel a lot and would basically use it for the clubs and some of the prestige factor although I can see how that can be embarrassing too.

The Walmart line is hilarious there!
