Would love to hear others thoughts on sassetti.

Since I am not a shoe expert, can someone weight in as to construction quality (retail for 750ish, got it at 240ish). I am guessing it's Goodyear Welt since

1. It said goodyear on the bottom
2. I can feel the stiching inside

the color is dark oak, and the style is austerity brogue with medallion toe. The leather looks quite decent, and so far it has been good (after 3 wears only, so can't say much as to how long it will last).

P.S. only mentioned here since the poster seems to now that RLPL made in Italy is by the same manufacture, not sure if it's the same quality as made in Italy RLPL though.

The pic of the sole in the new Bergdorf catalogue leads me to believe Mr. Monty is correct after having fondled the made in Italy PL shoes at the Mansion. They even have that riveted badge on the sole.

All right, only got crappy cell phone camera, so here is some picture
1. Silvano Sassettie's own label, sold in Bergdorf Goodman for around 750

2. Silvano Sassettie for Bergdorf Goodman for 650 (so slightly cheaper)

3. Another picture of Silvano Sassettie for Bergdorf Goodman for 650 (so slightly cheaper), says Goodyear on the bottom

4. RLPL Made in Italy, 1K+?

As you can see both RLPL made in italy and Silvano Sassettie's own lable has the leather tag on the bottom of the sole, but RLPL Made in Italy is quite a bit more expensive than Silvano Sassettie's own label sold in Bergdorf Goodman (like 350 more).

I saw my first pair of RLPLs from Italy at RL store at the Palazzo in LV last week.

$1100 was the retail price. Seemed nice enough but won't turn my head from EG or JL.

Of course if Grapevinehill starts selling them for $179 I may try a pair.

No sir. Gaziano and Girling has its own space in the AS factory. The shoes are done entirely differently, with different workers etc... This per the info from Mantons visit.

If so, they aren't from the Purple Label line.
