SKYVALET SHOES - new line announcement! - Page 2

Skyvalet, that's great. I don't get up to DC much, but when I do I will make sure to stop in.

Never using Plal before I wonder how hard it might be to recieve buisness from the forum when not competing against thier prices...it cannot be easy.

This is good news. I'll be in DC in a few days and may stop by, time permitting.

Important question: Are they going to be marked with US sizing or UK sizing or both or, as in some RL shoes made by C&J such as RL Benton, are they going to be marked with the US sizing but the shoe box will include both US and UK sizing?

I imagine CJ shoes will be marked in CJ sizes (UK)

That's because those are shoes manufactured specifically for sale in the US.

I think many people would gladly pay a little more to be able to view the actual shoes and to try them on. Plus, you can walk out of the store with your shoes and not deal with shipping and all of the associated issues. Brick and mortar stores have some real advantages to internet shops.

Well Crockett Jones shoes sold in the U.S. by Barneys and perhaps Ben Silver also come in U.S. sizing despite they are marked Crockett Jones instead of Ben Silver and Barneys.

So SkyValet may also sell them in U.S. sizing.

If I'm not mistaken, the C&Js that Barneys sells are actually made specifically for Barneys (and its noted as such on the inside of the shoe) and they are constructed with US measurements in mind i.e. 9.5 C&J for Barneys is going to be a 9.5 US, vs. a 10 US when you buy C&Js from Pediwear or PLal. I'm guessing that SkyValet is getting them directly from C&J, so they will be with UK sizing.

Sweet Jehosephat, these are Crockett and Jones shoes being sold as Crockett and Jones. They are UK sizing!

Sky Valet has previously had shoes made specifically for its store. Here's a pair of Carminas that I bought there:

You can sort of see the made for Sky Valet stamp on the inside.

Guys guys guys. I was just there on Sunday, they are regular main line Crockett and Jones, straight from England. They are the British versions with British sizing.

He had them with his own price tagging (1 size conversion) to help the noobs, but everyone here should already know.

Awesome shop, I may be in DC for the next two years or so, I am excited.

Unrelated question: Does Sterling and Burke have a physical showroom or not?
