Sit Down, Shut Up...No Arrested Development

Really disappointed in this new animated series by Arrested Development creator Michael Hurwitz.

A few good laughs courtesy of Gob, but other than that, really unfunny.

It was the pilot; I'm willing to give it one more chance based on the people involved--Hurwitz, Bateman, Arnett, Winkler, Will Forte...

Apparently it was originally going to be live action--I can see some of the writing working better in that medium. Some things that would be cartoonishly funny IRL are less funny when animated.

I thought it was great, especially for a pilot. you do have to take it with a grain of salt. there is a LOT of back story etc. to catch up with for one 30 min. show. the next 2 will be a better test of the humor.

and the little "flashback" music track they used was HILARIOUS! in a Family Guy/American Dad/South Park heavy cartoon universe, a little subtlety is a welcome change.

PS: GREEN LIGHT THE NEW FUTURAMA!!!!!!!!!!!

It just got shitted on in the reviews? Anyone see the "We're sorry about Arrested Development" commercials?

You can't pay me to waste my time watching the lame ass shows on sunday nights on fox. Anything that follows The Simpsons is already below my interest level.

I'll give it a chance once Fox dumps it and it moves over to Adult Swim where it belongs.

i thought this was awful, but had potential to be good. Mrs Smart is a teacher and she liked a poster in the background that said (more or less) "Don't make me do something that will get me arrested"

Adult swim will no longer be playing cartoons. from here on out it will be "irreverent adult comedy" a la Tim and Eric and Sol of the Molemen. humor is a thing of the past at cartoon network. get with the times.

apparently there have been talks w/ fox about a possible new season or 2. Matt seems open to it according to sources (like Billy West) so I have hope. it is, after all, the best show in the history of television.

That is truly some of the worst shit on television and anybody involved should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

(They do still have The Venture Brothers, though. Whew!)

Just watched it on Hulu. Yikes, that wasn't good at all.

I had it on while ironing shirts last night, it was disappointing. I had high expectations considering the cast, but it was not funny.
