That's the best way to get toned. Nothing beats hangin' around with the boys, half naked in the sun while hitting a ball around

Getting all sweaty, hosing each other off, some splashing, next thing you know its a full on water fight, and then you grab Andy's trunks and sprint for the ocean... wrestling among the waves..

That's like so Baywatch. Remember when Eddie was chasing Shawney down the breakers. It always turned out quite romantic.

Try working on getting long, lean muscles. Those short and fat muscles are icky.

The lighter the weight and more reps, the more toned you'll get. The more weight you use, the more buff you'll get.

So if you want to look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club, you should start off with 6x400 reps of 10lb barbell curls, move on to 5x250 reps of 15lb bench presses, and then 3x100 reps of 20lb squats. Finish off with a 3 hour brisk walk on the treadmill.

Coming from a guy called "fat elvis", I'm a bit suspicious... Can anyone confirm this theory please?
I'm actually in the same position as the op. Being rather short, I'd rather be toned then "buff" (read bulgy and stocky with too much muscle on a small frame)

That sort of lifting won't accomplish much of anything. If you want to look "toned" then increase your muscles' tone by using them (i.e. lifting weights), and then reduce your body fat. All that Brad Pitt has going for him in Fight Club is very low BF%. A regular lifting schedule mixed with the right diet will accomplish this. @OP: Chest: Fly, Bench Press, Incline BP, Decline BP, Dips, DB Press, Pushups, etc. Use them all Abs: Hanging leg lifts, leg throw downs, and situps will get your abs done pretty well- add weight for bigger abs
