70's, ideas for dressing up

Everyone,

I need to dress up 70's style for tomorrow (photo shoot in the late afternoon). I plan to go to a couple of vintage stores this afternoon. What should I be looking for? I have a few ideas, but am interested in something a little more original than the norm, or the detail that will make it all work.

Reminder: I'm female and slender, hair shoulder-length.

PS: All I have at home is a pair of jeans that could pass for 70's style pants, numerous necklaces of the era.

Good tip about the eyeshadow. Any particular color? The look's supposed to be that of a band.

Color? Oh, I don't know. Something bright that you like and coordinates. Heels or boots are de rigeur, skirts long or short, patterns bold and often geometric. Googling Blondie, or Heart, the Go-Go's or the Donnas should give some ideas. ~ H

Thanks, I got ideas by googling those names.

Here is what I found at home:

Pair of brown boots
short dress, sleeveless brown and cream, paisley design, laced up at the chest
White triangular lace shawl with big flower design
Silver necklace that used to belong to my mom

I think that works?

Discovered I own no eye shadow.

Not sure what to do with the hair.

Boots will probably look more vintage than any shoes, so that's good. Hose I think was required then. The lace up on the dress is very much that whole peasant-like look that was popular in some circles then. Not sure on the shawl, depends. Sicne the necklace, is I assume, period, that's excellent. Hair? Since you say it's long, I'd say wear it down, very naturally and 'flowy' if there is such a thing -- some of the styles then were pretty affected, but they wouldn't work with that dress. If just barely shoulder length, then perhaps curled up at the ends. Does anyone even wear eye shadow to have anymore? I wonder, thought there is one woman where I work who likes to wear two colors at the same time. It's a little odd, but it's her look and she owns it. ~ H

Photo shoot pushed to tomorrow.
Purchased shiny white eyeshadow (to go with the shawl) for $3.29 at the grocery store while gathering what I needed to prepare tonight's chicken waterzooi.
Added the hose, thank you. Tried the feathered hair with little success (very humid here today, better tomorrow.) I usually curl the ends up.
Yes, the jewelry is period.

I realize that, but there are others on the pictures with me, and cropping to leave only me wouldn't make much sense. It worked out, a bit corny, just perfect! Now I need to think of the design for the poster (it's for internal use only). Thank you all for the advice, especially Huntsman!
