Wen't to the exhibition they had touring the galleries here 3 days ago, was really cool, check it out if your aussie and it comes to your city. He's a badass.

he really is a renaissance man. the proposition is one of the greatest 'westerns' ever. his music is fantastic across broad genres and has remained relavent over 3 decades and his books, both drastically different, are unbeleivably good.

on top of all of that he can dress himself well and can be rather eloquent when required.

Saw him live with Blixa Bargeld /Bad Seeds -mid 80's, creepy good. since then, I've liked some of the music and I like the suits he's usually photographed in. slightly eccentric, i like it.

about the time I was reading Wiseblood by Flannery O'Conner -so the music and the story are mixed in my mind.....

I'm with you, brother. The Birthday Party is one of my favorites. I was just watching the Leonard Cohen tribute concert, "I'm Your Man." Nick's performance was pretty great and it had me pulling the Birthday party records out again. I'm always surprised at how many people don't know about the band.
