As for the 'exceptional' part, everything that was or at least would have been exceptional was cleared out by some pleb spiv within 10 minutes, he had purchased about 20-25 pairs, of different sizes, and upon closer inspection they were all the <£120 shoes. As I was simply looking at what appeared to be shoes on a rack, in my size a pair of Belgravia loafers for £90(!), I was told by him to get off the shoes as they were his, only then did I realise that the entire rack were his purchases.

Aside from this repulsive fellow, the good part was just meeting the staff and seeing what goes on behind the scenes. It didn't look as if too many shoes were being purchased all round, and many pairs were still available when I left after roughly forty five minutes.

What a great pity. There is one ebay seller who has large amounts of EG/Lobb shoes on offer already, wouldn't be surprised if it was him. Take a look at ebay, and you'll find the green/blue/red suede brogues that we're on offer at Kurt Gieger for £99 being sold for £395.

Whilst on the subject of a certain ebay seller here's a classic example of extortionate markup:

Hayes in Vintage Rioja - £650

Available from Edwards of Manchester who are an authorised reseller for G&G - £495.

The simple answer is to boycott Ascot as i do !! I'd rather pay full than deal with him , its the tremendous price hike he puts on thats the killer if he didnt put so much on i may well deal with him after all its a way of us all getting a little of the cheaper action without visiting isnt it ??? Ive ben to factory shops a few times an i know what he puts on the shoes!! In many cases its as cheap to buy full price from C&J or Churchs than use him.

I'm not sure why there is so much vitriol against this seller. If his prices are too high, simply don't buy from him. If you actually looked at his auctions, you'd realize he is not selling seconds, subs, rejects, or whatever you want to call them. He is selling first quality shoes, and his prices are still lower than standard retail.

For instance, you can get many styles of C&Js more cheaply from him than you can from the C&J shop. What is wrong about that? Do you expect him to simply be passing on great deals out of the goodness of his heart? No, the man is running a business. He invests time and money and expects a return.

Some people on this forum have become so absurd about expecting the cheapest possible price on every single item. If one type of C&J has ever sold for $200, people declare that it's a huge rip-off if someone dares sell any other type of C&J for over that amount. If you think it's a rip-off, don't buy it. But don't declare that the person selling an item is vile for their pricing decisions.

He does sell seconds/subs etc etc as explained on his website ??? And you make my point very well ie if the price is too high then dont use him !!

And ahem i dont expect him to pass on great deals as he simply doesnt i can get church shoes at a better price from the Church shop in Leeds and have done !!

I just didnt expect as others didnt , to see shoes he'd bought at 99 up for 395 just my opinion thats all. We are all entitled to one..........what do i know eh

A large percentage of his shoes are first quality shoes, including the EGs. Just look through his auctions. They are mostly firsts.

And, again, you assume that someone paid the lowest possible price. Those EGs were quite often bought by people, including many here, for closer to 150 to 200. He loses out on ebay and PayPal fees. It costs money to got to travel to a store and buy these items and to package them and ship them out. He spends time, which is valuable, putting up the auction, sending out the shoes, etc. Not to mention, why not sell them for that much if someone is going to pay it? The price is still below what they originally retailed for.

Nothing wrong with this. We are all entitled to our own opinion. I think that some people on this forum have become so absurd telling everyone else that they are absurd.

I say the invisible hands of free market will sort this out. Profit maximization is just a simple ingredient of capitalisim that we all embrace.

The demand will determine his price, which gets nothing to do with how much he has paid for his merchandises.

Same things happen in the stock makret everyday.
