Spectator - which to get?

Gentlemen - I have a serious dilemma. I have the opportunity to acquire either of the Spectators below and am having a difficult time deciding which to get. Both have a very light cream / almost white suede to compliment the brown leather. Both are from the 1930's-50's. The top pair is Florsheim and the other is uncertain. Which is more versatile, traditional, useful and appealing to you and why?

Florsheim

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I like the shape of the second pair and the design of the first.

+1 exactly. I think the top pair have a nicer styling but I like the shape of the second pair. For those viewing them on your feet though, most will probably notice the pattern first IMO

I'm with the others, I dig the first pair.

Specs should have a calf throat.

I actually like the second pair better (both shape and style). They elongate the foot better and are more interesting in detail.

I can't speak to the quality of craftsmanship of either ('tho they seem to have held up well for decades, whatever the possible shortcomings may be).

Again, I vote for the second pair--not to merely be contrarian for the sake of iconoclastic behavior--but to let you know that their is some support for your choosing the second pair.
