Recommend compact folding weight bench

I'm sick of tripping over my stupid weight bench which hogs so much floor space. I only need to do one thing on it- bench press, so I just the most simple bench with the uprights for holding the barbell.

I really want to find one that either folds flat against the wall, or will fold really flat to easily throw in a closet or something. Google gave me pages of useless results.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

You might want to check out this one. I think it meets your requirements. http://www.bodysolid.com/home/Item.cfm?ID=881

Much as I normally have absolute faith in someone with a Bevis and Butthead avatar, that bench is way too big and bulky for me. I'd really like a bench without the attachments, and that folds truly flat.

Other suggestions appreciated!

I'm in the same boat, but for opposite reasons. I had a Weider incline bench without the uprights and wanted to move up to a full bench, but I wanted something that didn't take up more space than my old one - I bought the Best Fitness bench linked above last week, and it's working well. Folded, it takes up no more space than the old, it supports me (190 lbs) and my max weight load (300 lbs). I did leave off the leg attachment off so it would be more compact when down, as I knew I'd never use it. Oddly, its the first bench I've owned that accomodates my 6'1" frame with room to spare.

I checked around quite a bit, btw, and I never found a bench with uprights that folds completely flat.

I'm surprised this is so hard to find. I would think it would be in big demand for the storage-space-challenged.

The ones recommended so far are still quite bulky even when folded.

I may cut up the one I've got and re-weld it the way I want it.

I thinkGradstudent78's suggestion is going to be your best bet. If you get a flat bench, should be easy enough to stand on it's end. You can get independent squat/bench stands as well to save more room. Example: http://www.roguefitness.com/store/po...uat_stands.php Edit - those are listed as squat stands; don't know if they go low enough for benching, but you get the idea.
