Cats or Dogs?

Gentlemen...

The cat peeing on my shoes thread on the clothing forum got me wondering... are you a dog person or cat person?

Give me a dog anyday! In fact, I have had a Vizla for quite some time now. Dogs are loyal, full of expressions, appreciative.. you can interact with them, walk them, play with them... they are selfless but also know those times when you should be left alone.

Cats tend to be .. well.... pains in the ass. They leave fur balls all over, get underfoot, when you want to be left alone, they come rubbing up against your legs, purring... when you want to pet them, if they had a middle paw on their furry little hell paws, they'd be flippin you off.. they have no loyalty... they go out at night, prowling... hmm.. they sound like some women I have known.

In any event... cats or dogs?

Cat people think dogs are brainless and have no emotion and are a bother. Dog people think cats are brainless and have no emotion and are a bother. In truth, some dogs and some cats are idiots, but I love em both.

+1. I have a cat right now that is great. Plan on getting a dog when I have more time and money.

Cats are evil and cannot be trusted.

Cats all the way. Recently, I tried to get a doberman and found out that my community does not allow them . I should get one and let them take me to court . Pricks don't even allow solar panels. I can't even cut down a tree . Anyway, I plan to get a Serval...

Cats are shifty as fuck. You'll wake up one day and realize your cat is sitting on your face, waiting to smother you.

Dogs for me, obviously.

But I was also won over by the "dog of the cat world" - the Abyssinian.

I'd get another.

^^^ I miss my ruddy Abyssinian. He was gorgeous. I have three dogs at the moment. A Coton de Tulear and two Shiba Inus. Shiba Inus are like the cats of the dog world. One lesson I've learned from owning a cat is to keep them indoors.

Love them both. I have a Boxer and a Siamese (the Himalayan type). Both are wonderful!

Cats. Mine is toilet trained. Try doing that with a dog. Also doesn't bark randomly at night or eat it's own shit. I like dogs too though, but I'm really a cat person.

I think there is a correlation between men/dogs and women/cats. Although obviously many exceptions.

I also get the sense that there is correlation between conservative/dogs and liberal/cats. Would make for an interesting poll.

I prefer dogs, but also like cats.

Having said that, I do think most cat-lovers confuse lack of intelligence with "having a personality". Your cat isn't stubborn or doing his own thing, he's just not smart enough to know you're trying to call him to come over.

RubeBabeIII was over last night for strawberry shortcake and when I told my cat, Gaborik, to "go see RBIII", he immediately walked across the room and jumped up in her lap.
