Connoisseurs of 'The Shandy' - Page 2

Depends. I'm not a fan of "Ralders", pilsner & lemonade, but I love a Russ (wheat beer+lemonade). Used to drink them all the time when I lived in Germany. When you drink very large quantities of beer on a regular basis, it doesn't make you any less manly to go half and half with lemonade. Its delicious. Important to note that Germans make them with lemon soda, not what we would call lemonade (or that was my experience, anyhow.) I was also a really big fan of the lemon soda they had there.

In German-speaking countries it's called 'Radler', as some noted. I thin it originated as a drink for cyclists. Quite acceptable on hot summer days, especially if mixed at the bar (i.e. not the sort they sell in cans).

Yes, but only with ginger beer, I'm not really a fan of lemonade shandys, and only during the day. In the evening ginger beer is put to much better use in a Dark and Stormy.

I'll admit to having a few on a hot summer day. I use San Pelligrino lemonada. For beers I like Ok Springs 1516 Lager, Rickards White, etc. I designated it my "drink of the summer" last year. And yes it's not the most manly of drinks, but damnit on a scorching hot patio it does have a certain something
