Would dark jeans go well with light shoes like these?

all this tomfoolery aside, i actually like the boot.
but i'm a woman... with victorian granny boots like this.

i really can't imagine a man wearing these feminized doc marten-esque boots.

the mcqueen ones, on the other hand, are quite lovely what with the faux-spat detail.

but to answer your original query of whether light + dark go together, they do, but not in the form of that creamy boot. in that colour, that boot is no good.

Thanks for real answers. I'm not affected at all.
First day on this forum I already found out what this forum is like, but I was posting over in the street-wear section. I guess each section has their own specific trolls. Thats what half the people on this forum have degraded to. Try to ask any serious question and they start bashing your style just to up their post count, and I've noticed this on multiple threads-- not just my own.

I actually seen a guy wearing the mcqueen victorian boots and I was just in awe.

Don't see how you can't imagine it as this was what men wore in that era.
Yea I'm just kind of sick of the color black. but i guess the cream is pretty ugly

pft im the jerk? I never asked for anyone's opinion on whether or not they liked the shoe

I don't think light shoes work with dark jeans. Dark brown with reddish undertons works best with dark jeans in my opinion.

Well the A McQueen ones are certainly more interesting...and they would go well with dark jeans but they are both pretty awful.

Don't give your opinion on the look, just the colour. Thank you.

Here's a great example of dark jeans and light shoes from the Sartorialist recently

See, it can be done! But yeah.. these shoes are much more masculine than the ones you posted. Plus, the nude tone is highly preferable to the cream.

grey trousers if i remember correct, so the boot was covered. He lifted it to show me the laces or I wouldn't have noticed it was a high top and you cant find these anymore... so im sad.

To be on topic, these boots will not go well with dark jeans. Not only is the color contrast off, but the dyed shiny leather (in this particular color) also does not pair well with dark jeans. Would even be slightly better if they were white soles.

Might be hard to explain when it is truly a visual process.

Though two pairs of footwear may be the same color (Brown canvas Chucks and Brown leather Churchs), it can be established that they are not easily exchangeable- while not even considering shape. How dyes, materials and textures interact with each other should all very much be taken into consideration.

To be honest, this color in general is AWFUL for footwear (again, mostly just in shiny leather b/c suede and canvas can both be pulled off nicely). I must insist again on white soles if this color is necessary to you.

haha. Well in terms of style the color in this case really is the main problem is it not? Looks like wall paper paste.

Forgot to refresh the thread before posting but nice to see other people were thinking along the same lines.

*I also agree with The Snob's post about these having a slight touch of femininity to them.

No offense, but that look is hideous.

To throw in my own redundant answer, yes dark denim is super versatile and will go with lighter boots, but the particular pair in question is the color of pus with the sickly sheen of a fever patient. When a garment begins to channel bodily fluids, it's time to move on.
