I don't think there's really anything categorically wrong with it, but it's a situation where patterned shirts almost always look better.

Agreed. White is just too stark against the earthy colors typical of odd jackets.

Looks ok with grey though

I hope!

I wear a stark white shirt with a suit considerably less than 5% of the time. I only rarely feel inspired by them. They feel too corporate and too uniform to me. I used to have 2-3 of them, but I'm down to just one now and doubt I'll get any more, really. I do also have a white OCBD for casual wear though and might add to that, but even there, I'm more inclined to get different colours.

That looks fine but is it an odd jacket?

Aside from a pleated shirt for formal, I do not have any white shirts.

Being blondish and genetically related to Casper the ghost, my blue eyes are the only color on my face. Consequently, I wear blues and reds most often.

Still, I am considering buying a white Jantzen just to have an emergency go-to in the closet.

A few more unsupported, sweeping generalizations and you'll have enough for a book.

How do you know one isn't already in the words?

I voted "occasionally" but it verges on "rarely". French cuff only -- all my barrel cuff dress shirts are non-white.

Now, for summer casual wear, I have a LOT of white shirts (both linen and cotton) -- maybe too many.

If I'm wearing a suit and tie, I always wear a white cotton shirt. I have tried blue in the past, but always want to get back to white.
