Lol,

But in all seriousness, do rappers not feel like band-wagon-hopping-on-DBs when they decide to use auto-tune?

It was cool and innovative the first time, not the 500th!

We could go on and on about this at length but Hip Hop has never been about innovation especially at an FM radio level. In and of itself hip hop is about taking what someone did 5 minutes before you and doing the same thing slightly differently. For better and for worse, standing on the shoulders of giants is what the whole genre is about. It is inherent and necessary but leads to very obvious (and often annoying) trends as well. I have a friend who wrote a thesis on the idea of dispersion of trends via hip hop vis a vis the idea that you could make up a word, concept or action at random, insert it into a popular song and thereby create a furor which would be built upon and disseminated by other artists, creating a social impact. He joked that if he could find someone willing to chop their hand off and make a hip hop song about how chopping your hand off was cool, America would see a sharp rise in handicapped people.

Patron, Cristal, Henn, Courvoisier, that pink shit that P. Diddy is pushing. Mention a product in a hot song and it will sell. I'd be shocked if people weren't paying for placement in rap these days.

They have been for years.

thats not to say rappers (or any media outlet) doesn't whore for free or that all name drops are adverts, but it absolutely exists. Many rappers liquor deals are public knowledge.

Not sounding like I was dropped on my head and forced to take horse tranquilizers for the first ten years of my life. Then again, I'm not filthy rich like this dude probably is, so it all evens out in the end.

I hate when people do this

Just cause I'm not a multimillionaire doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on a rich artist's music

That said Wayne's not that bad, a little cheesy though
