Such a disappointment.  I like the fabric on one of my shirts so much I think I'm gonna attempt to tailor it to acceptability, but the rest are going back.  What's bizarre and aggravating is the wildly varying fit amongst them all; you'd expect consistent sizing by the buyers at least amongst those being sold in the same lot!

Yes, I did not like the fit at all. I think the front-back balance of the shirts was not right for me, they were billowing at the back. Also I found them too long (I'm 5'10", got M) to wear untucked, and did not like the fabric at all compared to e.g. Vince shirts which feel much silkier. Perhaps the Vintage line is better.

The Unionmade sale is ALWAYS the highlight of the year. Picked up the red, black, and white flannel navajo print. Great price.

If you actually get your items, I'm under 50% but really hoping they come through as I got the blackwatch and blue dots I've been waiting on

From experience, can someone tell me what site has the most accurate measurements for Gitman shirts? I am looking at a shirt online but the measurements vary from site to site. To make matters worse, I am usually in between a Large and a Medium which as many know, can be a world of difference.

Thanks in advance!

Gitman's sizing is pretty inconsistent so it'll vary from shirt to shirt. Maybe ask the retailer for measurements for the specific shirt?

I think the problem with measuring GItmans is how they lay them out to measure. With the box pleat down the back if they pull it tight across the front there is still some extra fabric in back. Makes it hard to get an accurate measurement I think. And there is some variation from shirt to shirt, typically based around fabric (I the basic oxfords fit pretty consistent with each other, same with the overdyes and chambrays). You should probably tell us what shirt you're looking at and maybe somebody has experience with how it fits and can let you know.

The jump from medium to large is pretty big in Gitman. Larges are huge on me right now and mediums fit pretty good but are just a little tighter than I would like in the chest and shoulders. I'm in the process of selling all my larges and getting new mediums but I have to watch as some are just too small. Have had good luck with basic oxfords, chambrays, and overdyes though.

I am looking for the Red Plaid Hopsack shirt. Link is here: http://www.shopacrimony.com/products/gitman-bros-vintage-red-navy-hopsack-plaid

Can anyone commenton the sizing of the large and medium of this shirt?

I have a medium in the blackwatch hopsack shirt, which I assume is similar. It's is just slightly less fitted than my oxfords, but not enough to size up. Go with your usual GV size.

I have this and the blackwatch -- my mediums fit more or less true to size.
