Gitman Brothers Vintage - Page 213

Flax is what's used to make linen, so the two terms are often used interchangeably.

So, I would recommend trying them on first if possible

Just saw the ones on Unionmade and they're more expensive than any of the other sites.  Crazy.  Got the floral one from Hickoree's a couple days ago.

These prices are getting kinda ridiculous.

I'm a big fan of gitman and an even bigger fan of prints. $225 for one of these shirts though? Pfft

From my experience, I would go with the same size in GBV as Uniqlo, but I wouldn't expect the exact same fit. If anything, the major difference I find is that uniqlo shirts tend to run longer than Gitman (could be due to the shape of the hem though...)

I want a white OCBD, but I am not sure if it's worth to buy it from GBV.

I could just cop it a white Uniqlo OCBD to same some money. But how is the quality of Uniqlos compared to GBV? My GBV collection consists of three basics and one checkered, and I don't think I luuuuv GBVs quality, but the fit is amazing.

i had both uniqlo and GBV

sold all my uniqlo coz they were too short for me

GBV are like my staples now - i wear my blue and white Gitman OCBD everyday to work

I find that Gitman basic ocbds aren't that great. They're getting more and more expensive and there's really not that much to justify it. I wear uniqlo for times when I have to be biz caz

Two of my basics are from MyHabit and I got them free with MyHabit credits.

So the only problem is waiting for a new release of GBV shirts.

If you're considering to save money and already have three GBV basics, then you mind as well try the Uniqlo shirt. It won't be the end of the world if you don't like it and you can always spring for a GBV later on...

Not sure what type of response I'll get from this, but I forgot to mention that I actually prefer Muji to Uniqlo. It's slightly more expensive (in Asia... not sure about NYC), but I find it a bit higher quality than Uniqlo

Uniqlo+some tailoring is all you need if you want so save up and still get a great fit

I don't mean to knock you Uniqlo guys but I find the quality of that place overall to be pretty bad and doesn't come close to the quality of GV. I would wait to find some Gitman shirts on sale. There have been some great deals on Myhabit and the like.

Just a random thought. In all honesty, I'm not sure why there is so much dislike for Gitmans. Out of all of its competitors (WvG, BoO, etc), Gitman shirts are the best bang for your buck imo. For me, GBV has the best fit, collar, fabric & construction.
