Best Sandals (Flip Flops) - Suggestions?

Can anyone recommend a good pair/maker? I'm looking for something with at least a modicum of arch support for my flat feet. The dressier (if that's possible) the better.

there is nothing dressy about sandals.

but "drew" makes a good fisherman sandal. removable foot bed and steel shank.
about 135.00, in black or brown.

Birkenstock or Naot ... but they are in no way dressy.

Jesus Christ is the only guy who has done the sandals look with success..
Sandals are for monks or pilgrims...

They aren't dressy and they aren't cheap but Mephisto Sams are the most comfortable on the planet. The back near-full heel instead of just a narrow strap is important. Note buyer comments below btw.

Mephisto? Do you want to commit sartorial suicide?
What about Sebago , Van's ,Todds or also great flip-flops ...Better than sandals...

I guess I was thinking more of flip-flops rather than sandals.

I have seen what i call "leather flip-flops"..
The guy was wearing them with a white pair of linen trousers and the combo looked excellent..
No sleazy Miami Vice at all..

Three brands of flip-flops with excellent arch support worth taking a look at are Olukai, Chacos, and Reef.

Amen, you said it brother. Leave the sandals where they belong; next to the shower or in the week-ender as you head to the beach.

It's going to be hard to find flip flops with much arch support, but Rainbows http://www.rainbowsandals.com/ do have some, come in a variety of different color leather, last forever, and are "the" flip flops to get for people who are in to their beach wear.

Hands down Havaianas.

Rainbow or Reef for leather (a bit of arch support)
Get the slimmer single layer soles, not the double.

There's also Jutta Neumann.

I have three pairs of Reef flip-flops and love them all.

You might also want to look into Rainbow sandals; they'be been around for quite some time and I believe they offer better arch support:

*edit* ^Leave it to a Californian to beat me to it! Another thing: you might want to get them in your sneaker size, to avoid your toes and heels scraping against the ground...In my case, I wear US9D in dress shoes and a size 10 in sneakers (Nike, etc)...
