Common Projects S/S 2009

Allright, I have been glancing over some of the new Common Projects that appear to be on full distribution at this point, some of the new models I have noticed...the "Safari Boot"

a new mid-top "tournament" model...

the "tournament" also comes in a lowtop model...

there are also new cap-toed models that are different from the previous court shoes...

the new "special edition Achilles"...

Appears there are also 2009 editions of last years perforated achilles...

"two-strap tournament"

and finally just some of the new colors/finishes...

Pictures pulled from revolve, oki-ni, and southwillard. It should also be noted that there are some definite overall price increases from last season, with some of the new models reaching right at or over $400.

Saw most of those at South Willard yesterday. Really dig the new Special Edition Achilles.

Well, what I usually dislike about CP's is the fact that the sole feels too big & bulky in proportion to the rest of the (usually very sleek) shoe. The soles just seem more balanced on these.

I still can't figure out what is different with the special edition vs regular achilles

I like the 3rd one. But it is too similar to the achilles I already have, would seem redundant to have both.

Apparently the "special edition" achilles has a suede body with a patent leather tongue/front. I would like to see these up close to be able to distinguish them from the regular achilles.

The Special Edition Achilles look great in person. The uppers aren't actually the fuzzy suede they use on the DBs and Shell Toes, but what they call leather with a "sueded finish," which is somewhere in between regular leather and suede, I guess... not sure how to describe it, but it's nice. The patent toe/trim is a nice touch too and the perfect contrast, imo. Kinda tempted to sell my regular white Achilles and get those instead, haha.

Rest is pretty unremarkable, though. +1 on the Safari Boot being awkward as ****.

really feeling the grey and white cap toes. Not big on the price though, I've only seen CP's go down to the mid hundreds at the lowest..
