Leather Jacket with a scarf?

Thread Starter
Im getting a black leather jacket with a high collar, and Im wondering if its acceptable to wear a scarf with one? And if so... how should i do it? Should if go under my jacket and over my shirt?

I know its now spring, but I intend for this to be my go-to jacket next fall/early winter, and anything to keep it warm is good. I also intend to wear leather gloves with it, but I figured black ones are a safe bet for now.......... at least until I find a decent yellow or red pair....

Thanks for any help, and any additional pointers on what colour scarf to get/avoid really appreciated as well!

I don't get the recent influx of 'Something with a something' threads. There isn't and will never be a concrete answer on how to wear casual clothing and thats the great thing about it. In this case it would depend on the colour of the scarf, type of scarf, colour of the jacket, type of jacket and how you would wear the scarf, and even then it would be based on your face, glasses, hair, etc, and even then whether it looks good is subjective. I hope you see where I'm getting at.

In this case, it's always gay.

There should be a bit of moderation here for such juvenile and offensive comments.

Of course it's acceptable to wear a scarf with a leather jacket... the trick is to have it come off it as functional and not just plumage.

It works for Tom Selleck in this picture on my pizza box.

I tend to wear a scarf most of the time except when it gets warm, then I'm not wearing a jacket or coat.
In the cooler months, I prefer Cashmere or Alpaca but when it gets above the forty degree mark, I lean towards my silk ones. You can find very interesting scarves, especially silk in vintage stores, my preferences tend to be the paisley patterns.
I don't think there is anything gay about it. Here is an image that reflects a confident combination of Leather Jacket and Scarf.

Oh that's total aviator style, that's not fair! Reminds me of this WWI-type photoshoot they had in a german magazine when the Red Baron came out. Although, actually, none of the leather jackets had scarves paired with them.
