Sunglasses leaving red marks on nose. What to do?

Just got some new Persols, after needing sunglasses for awhile. After wearing them for more than 5 minutes or so, I get red marks where the 'pads' touch my nose. These are black plastic frames.

The store has already reshaped the arms to alleviate squeezing at the temples, and curved the tips of the arms a bit more around the back of my head to compensate. Is there anything that can be done in the nose area? Can they widen the bridge of nose somehow? I was thinking of making the tips of the arms at the back of my head a little more straight since those might be pulling the glasses too tight against my face, but I think that might lead to overall looseness or them falling off.

Anyone fixed this problem?

Cut your nose off, very chic in artist/performer circles because it looks like you used to do a lot of coke.

hmm, i don't think there really is a solution.
i think some people just have more sensitive noses than others... obviously the lighter the frame the less it is going to leave a mark, but i get marks no matter what. it goes away quickly so whatever.

its the weight of the frame, they can't do anything to adjust it.
just get over it.

Yeah, I think this happens to most people. Just roll with it. There's nothing wrong with other people thinking you just had sunglasses on your face.

Maybe get better nose pads for them if they use nosepads. If its just a one piece plastic frame you can't really do anything. I get marks but they fade a couple of minutes after I take them off.

Thanks, no nosepads though. They are the black plastic frames. You're probably right, everyone must get them at some point, and maybe over time my nose will get used to it

I would assume so, but can that be widened? I just stopped by Lenscrafters, and they said they can bend each lense upward at the corners, pulling the bridge area wider, but that makes the topline of the entire frame curve upward, and he said most people don't like that look.

I got some little pads from him, and they seem to help reduce the redness to a thin line. I might just look for some aviator style that are metal and lighter, and rock those instead

I like the Persol's though, so meh

I've had this problem before, and for some reason it always seems to happen with sunglasses that are expensive and fashionable. I solve the problem by keeping a comfortable-fitting pair of cheap sunglasses in my car to wear while driving, running errands, etc. That gives the red marks time to heal and disappear. Meanwhile, I'll wear the cool expensive shades on social occasions, and remove them as often as possible to make sure the red marks don't come back.
