Toilet paper leaving paper particles floating in the air whenever I break it?

I have a big problem in that whenever I break off a sheet of toilet paper, it releases a bunch of white particles that float around in the air in my bathroom. I'd rather not be breathing that crap in.

Additionally, whenever I use my steamer to steam clothes, these toilet paper particles all start to glue to the garment I'm steaming like moths to a flame.

It's an extremely annoying problem on both counts. I have tried two separate famous name brands of toilet paper so far, and this problem occurs with both of them.

Why is this happening, and how can I prevent it?

sounds like your bathroom is really really dry.

yeah, exploding TP is not a good thing.

Not sure what that means?

How am I supposed to make it 'wet'?

And what does that have to do with the phenomenon described in the OP?

If you have to ask...

I do have to ask.

This is actually a very serious problem, and so far I still have no clue on how to solve it.

i would imagine any kind of humidity would keep exploding fragments of tp from becoming airborne. the fact that they stick to garments when you steam seems to show that a little moisture in the air would keep them grounded. now, what "two separate famous name brands of toilet paper" have you tried so far? i ask because they might not even be sf approved, which could be your problem right there.

I've tried Royale and Cashmere (formerly Cottonelle) brands, and they both do this.

How do I get more humidity in my bathroom?

Would other brands of toilet paper not do this?

Where exactly would they go if they were kept grounded? Ie: would they still go into the air when I first break the paper, and then fall to the ground instead of floating there for extremely long periods of time? Or would they not go into the air at all?

I hate to break it to you but that is what toilet paper does. Sunlight makes it apparent to the eye. Is the sun beaming in through the window? Do you notice it at night? Have you ever removed a tissue from the box? It is the same thing.

go break off some toilet paper outside. if it does the same thing, its the toilet paper. if it doesnt, its your home.

I was about to say the exact same thing. I always notice a noticable amount of accumulated lint near the TP dispenser and wherever I have a tissue box. If you take a tissue and shake it around bright light and look closely at the air, you can see this.
It seems like the softer and thicker the TP, the more lint it releases.

From a Google search, someone recommeded TP with lotion and Angel Soft brand TP for minimal dust (lint) release. I actually might personally give them a try.
