Trussardi Ties?

What do people think of Trussardi ties? There are several on sale at eBay for $50 or so in nice subtle patterns. Are they worth the $$$? Thanks, Panzer

They aren't bad, but not worth $50. I'd pay $20 maybe.

Agree with jn, they're about Armani level quality, but I've seen some nice patterns (my first 'nice' tie was a Trussardi). koji

filene's basement always seems to have many at fairly low prices. OK ties, nothing spectacular

Don't have any Trussardis. Can't say one way or another. I do think Vavra of Italy's website carries them cheaper. But they also carry some other fine ties for very reasonable prices. And, of course, FIH has a terrific selection of high quality ties for very reasonable prices. Ties that would cost twice as much elsewhere. Quality is always worth it. On that note, I STILL plan to buy at least one, probably two, ties from carlo franco when his new shirts come in. Those are some high end ties too. Again, you have to pay for quality, but it is well worth it. Besides, ties will last for years and if you spread the cost over those years, it's not really much. Related to this, a long time ago, over 20 years ago, I purchased an Oxxford suit in San Luis Obispo, Ca at a good men's store. At the time, I didn't know Oxxford from Men's Wearhouse, but it just seemed like it was great quality. It was a dark grey, not charcoal. Great fit. It lasted for years. I would still have it except for the fact that I am larger and more muscular and it would be way tight. Moral: quality lasts and is probably cheaper in the long run.

Especially ties, when there's very little danger of outgrowing them.
