2006 - Flusser attempts to corner the lower-end of the clothing market while simultaneously appealing to literary-minded men. Arms and the Man is hailed by the New York Times as "a bold celebration of the short-sleeved shirt". 2007 - After an ugly incident where he is chased by an unruly but well-dressed mob into the lobby of the former Plaza Hotel, Flusser reverses course and pens a concise manifesto on the long-sleeve shirt. "A Farewell to Arms and the Man" appears in the Sunday Times magazine. Flusser appears on Howard Stern and is puzzled by the radio host's repeated queries about lesbians and the man.
