recent Paris hotel experiences

Does anyone have recent experiences with these hotels in Paris:

Saint James
Hotel d'Aubusson
Pavillon de la Reine
Luxmbourg Parc
Hotel de l'Abbaye
Raphael

I am planning a ten day vacation in Paris in August. I have never seen so many angry and bitter reviews of hotels as those for Parisian ones. Can anyone give me the skinny on these highly rated ones?

I've stayed at the first two on your list.

Have you considered renting an apartment, since you are going to be there for over a week? I would guess that, for ten days stay, you'd save around a thousand dollars if you did this. Also, if you like to cook, you'd have the wonderful option of taking beautiful produce and meats back to the apartment and cook it.

From my contact Deep Travel. You can trust his opinion.

Hotel d'Aubusson 4-star, amazing location. My preferred 4-star in all of Paris. Stayed here. 8/10
Pavillon de la Reine Perfect 4-star on the Place des Voges, 8/10
Luxembourg Parc Very nice, also 4-star.7/10 Better value in the same area is Le Relais Medicis, my favourite 3-star in all of Paris.
Hotel de l'Abbaye Small, characterful, lovely 4-star. 7.5/10
Raphael Lovely 5-star on Kleber, a great location. If a promo rate is available, the Plaza Athenee is far better value as the hotel is the best in Paris,

Have fun.

Why stay in a hotel then?

RJman has told me that the Rue de LouCostello is lined with fantastic places. The Euro be damned.

Hotel George V

I stayed at the K+K Hotel Cayré, St Germain, but I am a small timer.

+1 on the George V

Cannot beat the location and service. The restaurant, Le Cinq, is also excellent
