They showed "˜Shattered Glass' last night on one of the movie channels. It's the true story of The New Republic assistant editor Stephen Glass who authored 41 stories for the publication, 21 of which were completely phony. I thought Hayden Christensen was excellent in the movie, and am convinced that his piss poor performance in Star Wars is due to George Lucas's horrible writing and directing, than the actors lack of talent. I was unaware this story ever occurred (back in 1998), but I found it to be a profound truth of our times: deceit is easier to pull off than when it comes from a "˜legitimate' source. Jon.
