I am not sure if it is a contemporarious memory or I saw a re-run, but I have vivid memories of seeing the Swiss spaghetti harvest on television. (Yes, I realize that makes me a very old man. Keep in mind, I'm still getting laid more often than most of you all.)

I've actually seen it on TV two or three times, and I'm 36.

When I was in sixth grade, my mom sat me down to have a serious talk. I had forgotten it was April Fool's Day, so when she told me she was pregnant... My parents have 4 kids. IIRC I was struck completely dumb until she started laughing at me.

When I was in ninth grade, my mom sat me down to have the exact same talk. Except it wasn't a gag.

One of my long-time friends received a similar talk, except his parents were adopting. He got that same talk perhaps a dozen more times until he finally moved out. They're still adopting. Also, not a gag.

It worked on me because I'm the oldest and had gotten the same talk three times previously.

What does this mean?

It means I'm experiencing a certain level of ambiguity assessing whether Teacher's reaction to the news of his fourth sibling when in the ninth grade was net positive or negative. What the hell kind of question was that?

Oh, it didn't bother me. My younger brother Wade, on the other hand, was not at all amused.
