I can't comb my hair

I really consider this a personal shortcoming.

I rarely get a consistent part, sometimes its crooked, sometimes its not. Eventually I lost that throughout the day. The worst thing is i have a widow's peak so i always get these little tufts that hang down.

My question is: how do i routinely get a good part and how do i keep it and prevent little parts from falling down? I'm hoping the answer isn't to use a product. I comb when my hair is wet after a shower.

Thanks.

PS: I have too much pride to google answers for this, yet strangely, not too much to post this on an internet forum.

Best thing you can do: go to a hair salon & explain your problem to the stylist. He or she will be able to look at your hair & how it grows, & will be able to suggest a style that will give you a consistent part.

Next best thing: lots and lots of pomade.

I really think the answer is to use product. I have the same problem as you, and to make it worse, my hair looks awful when I put a lot of pomade, wax in my hair, so I have to use it very very sparingly and even still it doesn't hold, but at least my hair stays out of my face generally.

A part can fall naturally when combing the hair back. Does that happen? I find that the hair parts easier / straighter on it's own than trying to force it. I'm not sure what your hang up is with using a product. Judging by what you're saying, you could get away with a soft hold gel which neither you nor anyone else would notice. It wouldn't add weight or stiffness and hold your hair in place during the day. There are also liquid pomades (which are very light) which would do the same thing.

I would suggest developing coordination and dexterity. Also, opposable thumbs may help.
Try standing still, jumping up and down on the trampoline isn't conducive to hair styling. And start using a comb other than a steel fro-pick. They make it hard to part.

Nothing will change unless you use product.

Ever considering shaving your head? Why even deal with parts and widow peaks, buzz it all off and enjoy a carefree spring/summer.

If you can practice something regularly i have some suggestion for you. Oil your hair during bed time and pin your hair tightly at several places so that your hairs donot hang down. shampoo your hair next day and comb it when it is wet. may be you can practice this like for 15 days or so and then you will be able to comb your hair properly.

Wont work

The shampoo is the ultimate reset. Anything he does before is moot. You also cant "train hair."

You have to use some kind of product.
