Looks like there's a subtle gradient. Do want, though I think I'll probably end up with the navy color. What kind of wool?

Interesting to see where the sweaters were made. My mom vacationed there alone when I was nine. I remember she returned home with a TON of marsupialed souvenir-type gifts for my me and my brother, including bottles of sand from the beach and some absurd rubber lobster that made squeaky noises when you squeezed it (its size precluded it from being a dog toy, though I'm aware the description makes it sound precisely like one).

My point is maybe I can convince her to help fund an item made in Prince Edward Island that isn't completely stupid.

Yes, that Blackwatch colorway is actually forest green and navy yarn knit together. It's really awesome. We're working on the press release and all the info about these now. They'll sell for $325, and we'll have them in Blackwatch, Navy, and Charcoal. The Navy is a solid dark Navy, and the Charcoal has a nice heathered look. The story behind them is great. One of our staff interviewed the owner for an hour and we'll detail exactly how each one is made. We ran a few sampling runs to get the fit correct, and it's right on and very TTS. More details to come soon! In the meantime, we just put some great outerwear by Garbstore up. If you're not familiar with this line, it's a British label headed by Ian Paley, a former designer for Paul Smith and the former founder/director of One True Saxon. I'm a huge fan of their outerwear. The attention to detail is fantastic, and the pieces are really unique. We've got two textile jackets and a leather one:

Mountain Providence Parka Navy: $465

Foreman’s Jacket Black: $345

Lewis Leathers for Garbstore Flying Dominator Jacket: $800 Simply stated, this is one of the best leather jackets that we've ever seen. Anywhere. And from anyone. The fit is perfect, the quality is phenomenal, and the style is truly timeless. It's a special edition collaborative piece between Garbstore and Lewis leathers, and stock is extremely limited. 8 units are available. Definitely click through and read the entire story - this piece is incredible!

It's so good. The yarn is 100% Virgin Oiled British Wool. It has natural lanolin oil inside the fibers to offer a measure of water repellence and offer years of wear. Each one is entirely and individually hand made. We're doing a proper press release and launch for these next week. I've got good stock in all three colors. This item was the result of months of research and sample development. You guys are going to love it! These sweaters seriously keep it real. Mad real.

(Yet) another question: what's the texture like? As in, how coarse is the wool?

Tough to say exactly, but it's got a nice, sturdy hand. It's definitely smoother and softer than Iverallan & other traditional Aran sweaters. It's not as soft as thick merino or cashmere, but if you own a proper Scottish lambswool sweater - by the likes of Johnstons - then it's fairly close to the hand on that.

I think that this strikes a great balance between softness and ruggedness. We spent months developing it. I haven't seen anything else on the market that delivers this level of quality and fit for the price.

Are those green/black/purple threads? The color is really beautiful. Like the namesake plaid, which you wouldn't think would be gorgeous but is the king of plaids.

I count myself pretty fortunate to be within walking distance of Smith Street.
