Is the purple Gitman overdye a lavender-ish type of purple or a deep plum purple?

How well do they take to being taken in at the waist? I bought a 33, probably needed a 32. I really like them and it never occurred to me to get them tailored.

Good work!

Now you just need to offer them in more fabrics!

Mine were taken in at the waist by about an inch and they seem fine. I imagine the legs would be a touch slimmer on a pair made at my size, but they're definitely not baggy or unwearable. The quality seems high enough that I wouldn't hesitate to spend a few more dollars to get them tailored.

Hey guys, hoping you can help me with an epaulet-themed dilemma - I asked in the "should i or shouldn't i" thread but didn't get a response, so I figured I would ask in here. What do you guys think? mcnairy crepe chukka: http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/t...t-Brown/Detail or mcnairy captoe brown suede: http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/t...n-Suede/Detail Would be wearing with denim and chinos, oxfords and a tie. The brown suede worries me as I would inevitably get indigo on the tops, and then they would not look nearly as sharp. I have a few pairs of clarks DB's, but these blow those completely out of the water.

I would go with the captoe. Crepe soles wear down pretty quickly, and they aren't so good in winter. Plus, I think the boots are more distinctive and would suit more casual outfits better than the chukka's. ps. your links are broken. if anyone is curious here are the appropriate links: Brown Captoe Boot Brown Crepe Chukka

thank you for the response, and also the heads-up on the links. I fixed them too. Crepe soles are definitely almost unwearable in winter, but so is suede for me. I live in Vermont, so I am pretty much wearing duck boots for a good portion of the year.

I would go with the captoes as well. In my opinion, they are overall better looking, probably a bit more versatile, and as prevsiouly stated more distinctive or unique.

thanks for the suggestions guys - i am going to think it over, but i am leaning toward the captoe.

on another note, i again want to say how great the epaulet shirts are. I have the red oxford, and the greycast chambray, and both of them are really great. They are cut well, made well, beautiful, and look amazing. I was thinking about how they are the rare piece of clothing for me that I feel increasingly better about the purchase as time goes on.

It is totally amazing that shirts of this quality are available for 130 USD.

I can't wait til both of them are beat up, aged, and worn-in.

Agreed about the shirts. I only have the greycast chambray right now but want to get more as I've been very impressed with this one. How different are the fits between the chambray and the oxford?

the oxford fits slimmer because of the darting, but the shoulders and chest are pretty similar.

i can't recommend the oxfords enough, the red one is my favorite shirt right now.

Im also trying to decide between the red oxford and the red oxford button down collar. I dont like button shirts where if the top button is unbuttoned the shirt opens up tremendously exposing a lot of chest. I like the shirt to mostly stay straight to the top with a bit of the upper chest / lower neck exposed. I assume the button down collar would pull this look off better? My chest is a tad hairy and with some shirts, if I dont wear an undershirt then a decent amount of hair shows through. So if this ramble isnt making sense to anyone, I want a shirt where the top of the shirt looks mostly closed even with the top button unbuttoned. http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/t...-Oxford/Detail http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/t...-Oxford/Detail

You want to get the button-down.

I have the tan moleskins. They're a heavier material and quite nice. The gabardine would be better for the summer months, so it's just a matter of what you want to wear when and where. - Keith
