You can wear chinos with a sport coat. I very rarely wear dress trousers to work because my office is laid back. I just was seeing if they have the ability to be both dressed up and down when needed.

i wear a small in jcrew shirts and the small in epaulet shirts were too tight in the chest for me.

You probably need a medium, although it depends on your build. I am 5'8" and 160 pounds, and as you can see, the small is tight on me. I placed an order last night for a medium. I'll see how it goes.

Hello body doppelganger. FWIW, I'm a M in Gitman, and people have recommended a M for Epaulet.

A better gauge is chest size. I'm 5'9.5" and 145 lbs., and Epaulet S fits me perfectly. I tend to be a S in Gitman, but there are a few Gitman styles that require me to size up to a M. Measure your chest or, better yet, take the measurements of your best-fitting shirt, and compare those measurements with the ones on the website. - K

Sometimes I will use a clothes steamer if they look wrinkled after a hang dry. Takes probably 50% less time than ironing. Also, I have found the Japanese fabrics (i.e. gunmetal) tend to wrinkle much less than the basic cotton (i.e. khaki).

Anyways, I have been able to wear all of my chinos in a business casual environment without steaming/ironing. Hang drying is great on keeping clothes in better condition it just is a little inconsistent with regards to leaving wrinkles or not...

Hey guys,

I've gotten a few emails about our Chambray Utility shirts, and I looked into it this morning. If anyone feels like the shoulders are slimmer than usual, you're entirely right. It looks like this run was cut off our pattern, and the shoulders are approximately 1" smaller than spec'd.

I've revised the online items and posted new measurements for this run. A couple things about this:

1. I'm really sorry that I missed this. Both myself and an employee tried on the shirts when they arrived, and they fit alright, so I didn't measure them at the time. Neither of us have particularly broad shoulders though. This is the first occasion where our shirts have been mis-cut, so we didn't see it coming.

2. Even though the fit is smaller in the shoulders, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad overall cut. It's just not one-to-one with our Epaulet shirting. Some members here (like nineohtoo) actually prefer this fit, and I've personally sold about 25 units of the new shirts in our stores since they arrived. They looked great on the guys who bought them. The shoulder to chest ratio isn't crazy - it's something that I've seen with plenty of shirts before.

3. If you purchased a Utility shirt and you don't like the fit, we'll of course take it back for a full refund and reimburse you for return shipping. This goes for both domestic and international orders. Just let me know.

4. Most customers can still order this item sized one-to-one with Epaulet shirting. If our Epaulet shirts fit you slim in the shoulders and the body, then I think you can safely size up one on these. If Epaulet shirts are slim in the shoulders but you've got considerable room in the body, then you might want to pass on the style overall.

5. If you have the Utility shirt already and you like the fit, then you're good to go. These shirts are pre-shrunk and pre-washed, so as long as you hang-dry, any further shrinkage will be extremely minimal to nonexistent.

6. These EP's shirts are made in a totally separate facility from where our Epaulet shirts are made. So this sizing discrepancy didn't happen with any of our Epaulet-branded shirts (floral, point collar oxfords, forest madras, etc.). It's just the Red, White, and Greycast Indigo utility shirts.

So, again, my apologies for any inconvenience. If you have this item and you're not happy with it, we'll absolutely get it sorted on our expense.
