You're talking about the scarf right?

I have that scarf and love it.

(In for some Carminas on down the line, don't worry.)

Yes. Its not an exact match for the Barrie last, but I went 8.5UK and I'm a standard 9.5D and a 9D on Barrie and TB. I have a bit more room in the heel than I do on the Barrie last, but just a smidge. The forefoot of the shoe is slightly narrower than the Barrie. The shoe fills a huge gap in my wardrobe. Everything I have is very "gunboaty" and that's what I like, but these have a more classic elegance about them. Very Vass.

The scarf is sweet, and was calling my name. I'll eventually snag one of those cardigans too at some point and if I'm lucky the calf double monks.

I'm torn between the calf double monks and the chelsea boot. Very tough decision.

But it was an easy decision to go for the calf shoes. I love shell cordovan, especially rare shell, and looking at the calf Carminas next to the shell ones, it's very difficult to tell them apart. That's how nice the calf is. And of course the calf is more naturally supple than the shell. The shell is obviously beautiful, but for those of us who wear shell all the time, the calf is absolutely as nice and up to par. (That being said if I don't have a shell Carmina within a year, I'll be surprised.)

Mike was telling me that the calf tannery Carmina uses also supplies calf for Edward Green and Vass.

Agreed. What I love the most about shell is the ease in taking care of it. Like my Jumpers I beat the crap out of em, and a 15 minute process had them shining like new.

I am so glad everyone is posting more photos. This is excellent! Now I need to catch up!

NYR, that last look is possibly my new favorite. Really, really good.
