^ I wonder what color they are...

Mike, do you have a belt that goes with all your trousers/dress shirts? I'm considering the dark british tan chromexcel belt but I'm not sure how it pairs with a pair of wool pants and one of your dress shirts. Could you lend some insight?

I had a feeling that would be the case. Thank you for confirming, Mike. I might wait for the navy wool-cashmere, but the olive guncheck are damn tempting.

A few people had asked questions about the navy lambswool. The weight of the fabric is not heavy or as thick as a Harris tweed (for example), but they are insulating and warm for cool to cold weather. And as others have said, the color is quite striking especially in daylight.

Thanks guys, I can't wait for these shoes! We'll definitely do a huge launch for them and post all the styles here before anywhere else. We're working with the Inca, Rain, and Forest last for this first delivery. And we'll work out sizing translations to common Alden lasts to make finding your size as easy as possible.

No, not dark brown exactly. The olive twill is the closest thing that we have at the moment. But I have a HUGE chino delivery - last one of the year - coming by next week. I don't believe that there's a dark brown in there, but there might be some other colors that grab you.

Well, all of our belts are thick and somewhat casual, but the Dark British Tan would be IMO the best suited for a dress shirt and trousers. It will look pretty heavy on a true dress pant (like our Super 120's), but it's an excellent match for something like a flannel, tweed, moleskin, or cramerton trouser. And it's absolutely brilliant with denim.

Hey Mike - you mentioned that the Natty Chromexcel loafers won't be available again until Spring....any chance I could put in a special order for a narrow width on those? Sometimes on a lace-up I can swing a D width if I just pull the laces really tight, but on a loafer my foot would probably be sliding around like crazy. Thanks!

Tan moleskin waistcoat already sold out in 38???

Hi Mike,

Some nice new product! Question about the Gant Varsity Jacket - would shortening sleeves with rib-knit cuffs be sensible/feasible for a good tailor? Great-looking jacket, but the ratio of chest size to arm length is definitely biased to tall skinny folk i.e. not me.

Thanks,
Harry

Yes, definitely. I plan to do a few runs of Natural CXL shoes in the Spring, and we'll be able to do special orders for each of them (widths, narrows, extended sizes). Special order shoes will be final sale, but they'll be the same price as our usual items.

Thanks,

Hmm, good question. They would have to be shortened at the cuff, as this is a raglan sleeve item. I can feel a small seam allowance attaching the ribbing to the sleeve, so I imagine it would be possible to remove that, hem the sleeve, and then reattach it.

Stephen Waistcoat by Epaulet

Okay guys, I've got a load of new stuff to post! First up is our "Stephen" waistcoat. It fits roughly one-to-one with our Southwick sportcoats and trousers and it's made in the USA. I wanted to offer something more substantial than just a vest, so this Waistcoat is fully fleshed out with lapels, flap pockets, and rear buckleback. It's an excellent way to dress up trousers, chinos, or denim - and the Brown Houndstooth ties back to the matching Weller Sportcoat and Walt/Rudy trousers for a full 3-piece suit separate. Here's the lineup:

525
Epaulet Stephen Waistcoat Grey Herringbone Wool: $245

525
Epaulet Stephen Waistcoat Brown Houndstooth Wool: $245

525
Epaulet Stephen Waistcoat Tan Moleskin: $225

Ashland by Epaulet Shirting

Got some more! This is our third season of Ashland shirting, and we've got some great fabrics to offer.

If you're not familiar with it, then Ashland by Epaulet is our capsule collection with Gitman Brothers. Each of the shirts are made at Gitman's facility in Ashland, PA with single needle tailoring, great European fabrics, and genuine mother of pearl buttons. The fit is very similar to Gitman Vintage, but with slightly deeper armholes and light darts in the lower back. Sizing is generally one-to-one between Ashland and Gitman Vintage. We've got three new shirts to offer:

350
Ashland Cutaway Collar Red/Blue/GreenTattersall: $150

350
Ashland Button Down Oatmeal Tattersall: $150

350
Ashland Button Down Sky Plaid: $150

Nice...I'll wait until next year then before I worry about it, since it's still a while away before you restock any of these. But good to know I can get a narrow width when the time comes, thanks!
