I picked up a pair of the Rivet cotton-cash chinos last year and Mike is spot-on, the hand on them is as nice as I've felt. I'm excited to grab a Walt makeup in one of them this time around.

In other news, I got a pair of the Tyrol PTBs in the mail last week.

They definitely feel more robust than my other Aldens, a pair of brown Chromexcel PTBs. Maybe it's the commando sole vs. oiled flex sole or the Alpine scotchgrain vs. brown Chromexcel. I'm wondering how these will break in.

Still, they're very sturdy. I like them.

Any particular recommendations for care of the scotchgrain leather?

Are you saying too big in the shoulders? Or the body? It looks spot on to me. The button stance is on the lower side, but I think that is a more classic look and I personally like it. Am I wrong there? I'm still learning how to appreciate and recognize a proper fit.
I could be wrong too, but I agree with you. Fit looked excellent to me.

Shouldn't be much different than calf, except the scotchgrain is a little more robust.
I feel like the scotchgrain is glazed a little more than its calf counterpart.

Thanks for the confirmation I'm not completely crazy

. I thought it looked great as well.

I'm not trying to be disagreeable or hijack the thread as a fit thread, but I am very curious about what would make it too big now that it has been brought up. I've learned so much about fit and what to look for in the time I've been on SF, but I still have so much to learn and so I like to know the "why" behind things

. I've learned more about style, fit, and everything else sartorial here in the last few months than I did most of my life.

Fit looks spot on. If the jacket is big, I'm not sure where....the sides are definitely tapered enough and the shoulders look good also, at least from the pictures provided.

Anybody own the Carmina Fitzgerald Wingtips? What Alden last is most similar to the Forest? If I wear a 7.5D Barrie & 8D Aberdeen/Hampton, should I go for the UK7?

The Fitz is most like the Aberdeen. I wear a 10.5 in the Aberdeen, 10 in the Barrie, and a 9 UK in the Fitz. Many others would probably wear a 9.5, but Carmina's Forest and Rain are both 9 UK for me. The 9 in the Forest is snug, but a 9.5 would be too large. I think the way the correct size Carminas fit relative to Alden is very different. Carminas are a closer fit, whereas Alden is more voluminous.

I'm 10.5 TTS and 10D Barrie and am 9.5UK on three different Carmina Forest models (two shoes and a boot). I'll add that the two shoes are the same model (Epaulet Alt Wein), but the CXL pair has a little extra volume while the shell pair is close to perfect. I could possibly go down to 9UK, but I wouldn't enjoy it.

And yes, I'd certainly vote the Cotton-Cash as one of the ultimate biz-caz pieces. It's a year-round weight and has the nicest hand that you'll ever feel on a cotton blend. I believe that some guys on here picked up the Rivet Chinos in cotton-cashmere last season, so they might be able to weight in on it. This Walt/Rudy fabric is higher end that the Rivet cloth was, and it's really luxurious.

Yes, love my cotton cash rivets. They're a go-to business casual pant for me -- would be even better as a Walt/Rudy for that. There's just enough cashmere in them that they drape amazingly well.

Anybody else remember their first Epaulet Purchase?

Alden 403s from the Smith Street shop in 2009.

Next purchase was an Epaulet mainline Japanese twill multi-gingham shirt, which is still going strong -- wearing it here. Studio shots archived here.

@edubs01 This has been my experience. I'm also 10.5D U.S. TTS and in the Aberdeen, 10D U.S. Barrie, and 9.5 UK in all Carmina lasts except the Inca lasted dub monks, which I size down to a 9UK for (just because they're dub monks and the Inca is a wide last).

Just tried on my first pair of Driggs and I'm glad I finally decided to try them! I own a pair of Walts that fit great, but I typically don't have to dress up (even business casual would seem too formal at my office).

I have a long torso and skinny/short legs, so the Rivet's rise is just too low for me and the Walt's leg a little too roomy for my day-to-day outfits. Full disclosure, I tend to wear Unis Gio Skinny's (which I love), but wanted something a little roomier in the leg. I've been looking for something that's a more middle ground fit - between the Walt and the Gio Skinny. The Driggs is it! My main concern was that the rise would be too low for me, and while it definitely isn't the Walt rise, I'll take it. I know it's been said before, but I'm always impressed with the OTR fits from Epaulet.

Can't wait to start playing around with some MTO options!

(I also picked up a pair of Walt shorts on sale and they're perfect)

So I picked up the EPLA navy overdye oxford at the sale, and figured I would post a photo so you guys could check it out. These came out really great; the fabric is soft, the construction looks and feels really solid, and the color looks amazing in both natural and artificial light. I am normally an XS and the EPLA size S was perfect for me, so that is my one warning about these. The collars on this first batch are smaller than what was planned, so if you saw the sample photos on instagram or wherever those were posted, these ones came out different than that. I think that's something that they plan to fix going forward, but I grabbed this one since I actually like the mistake. These sold really well in the store on Saturday too, despite being only 15% off alongside EPNY stuff that was 50% off.
