@Epaulet,

The rise measurement on your website is different for the same cut - is this a typo?  I'm seeing a 12.5" rise for the Walt cut in one place and a 10" rise in another.  Can you clarify?

12.5" rise: http://epauletnewyork.com/products/hertling-ends-for-friends-trousers-jun-16-dress-wools

10" rise: http://epauletnewyork.com/collections/special-order/products/epaulet-made-to-order-trousers-tropical-wool-reda-wool-hopsack

Frank, out of all your many great outfits, this is one of the best.  So timeless and effortless.

PSA for Rudy guys - I just got delivery of some new pants for the summer and I think I'm gonna have to let the Natural Cotton-Linen ones go. I should've sized up as I did w/ the pure linens and I'm leery of trying to let out a fabric this light as I think it show in the seam. Too bad - I love the fabric. These are a 35, but fit more like a 34. Brand new - tags are still attached. Figured I'd give everyone here a heads up before I put them up on B&S in a few days. PM me if you're interested.

@jet551 ah, yeah, we need to update that. Back in the days, we were quoting the "Full Rise," which would be the waistband to the lowest point of the crotch (past them seam) with the pants laid flat.

We then changed it to both front and back rise, which is the 10" measurement. For the moment, just go with the MTO measurements, I'll update the others today. Since the overwhelming amount of EFF buyers already own our pants and know their fits, it doesn't really come up, but we should get it rectified.

A couple questions about the incoming Portuguese suit separates:

1)  Do you know the hip measurement for Walt and Rudy?  I typically take a 35 in Rudy, and take the waist in about an inch.  I suspect with these Walts, I'd have to size up to a 36 and take the waist in two inches or more, which could make for strange-looking pocket placement.  A 35 could work with alterations to the seat and thigh, but I'd rather avoid those.

2)  What tone of grey will be stocked?

@nickpapagiorgio I'm going to test the fit out myself today, but if you're sizing up on the Rudy, then chances are this pant isn't going to work, even with tailoring. I think that TTS Rudy guys can do it, but I'll be the test case for that. I wear a 34 Rudy very well, so I'll see if this trouser can be altered enough. I think that going to size 35 and letting out the legs to the max will do it.

The grey is really nice, kind of a medium grey melange.

And the navy jackets can work as separate pieces, so don't count them out as sportcoats even if the trousers don't work. We always sell more navy coats than navy suits anyway.

@Thefenceposts yup, we have a full restock of Navy and Grey hopsack en-route, along with some cotton Taylor trousers.

But if you need navy and grey walts, then definitely consider these Portugal ones. I bought 4x the amount of pants than jackets so that we can sell them as basic dress trousers. The vibe is similar to the Super 120s wools that we carried for years except that (1) this Barberis fabric is nicer and better quality and (2) the retail is $30 less ($165 rather than our former price of $195).

Our hopsack is in a class of its own and its far and away our most popular trouser fabric. We offer that for $265.

Individualized linen shirt, Southwick indigo linen jacket, EFF Big Bird yellow linen trousers.

Shoes are from Alden San Francisco.

@cyclohexane those pants are freaking amazing, I'm so glad that you scored those!

@gumercindo It's going to read like a very dark navy solid pant, so I'd pair it with a grey or tan jacket, primarily

@bkotsko that looks really great. Like the other dudes, I wear B/D shirts and jackets or suits all of the time. As long as you've got a proper collar and it's not some kind of limp unlined J.Crew thing, I think that you're all good.

I also want to call this out as one of the best fits I've ever seen on this site or anywhere. Bravo! @FrankCowperwood

When will the suiting go up on the site?

I've been plagued with this decision for too long...can you help, fine people of this thread? I need a new summer shoe - which one should I get?

Alabaster
I'm biased because I own the older version of shoe #1. I think the GAT works best as a two-tone shoe, and the white/light gray combination is the classic model.
The first one looks unbalanced to me compared to the MMM version it is based on. I personally went for the alabaster one for that reason. Just my view.

I vote two tone - I've never understood the all white sneaker thing (though I know I'm the odd one on that)

I must have looked rather carefully to notice you're around the corner from Campo de'Fiori. Enjoy Roma.

If you're staying at Albergo Sole, I recommend pastries at Pasticceria di Bellis. Exit the hotel, make a right, keep right towards the church (San Andrea delle Valle), pastry shop is on your right.

Those photos of the Natural horsehide shoes have me in a spin. If anyone is looking to offload a US 12, send deets my way.

Also, All-EP day today:

So pissed off at myself. I hesitated on pulling the trigger on the stream milk EFF. Now it's sold out. Lesson learned will not let that happen again.
