So, related question: since I saw it looks like you're going with olive as your third color, what are the possibilities of doing special orders on the EPLA overdye oxfords? Could I order a color (and size XS)? Would there be a minimum number (thus maybe do a group buy)? Willing to pay upcharge, but wondering if it's even within the realm of possibility.

Mike,

I'm looking around for a new camera and curious what you, and others think of the Sony RX100M II?
Also, you believe I saw in a previous thread that the white denim is still about four weeks out? Is that a generalization? Would really like to have these in my hands before the end of February if all possible. Thanks

I have the older version RX100 (based on reading here) and have been very pleased. Still learning how to use it.

Image resolution is night and day improvement from smaller sensor cameras.

White and Grey denim is already cut and will start production next week. We'll have it well before the end of Feb - hopefully sometime in the next 2 weeks actually

And yes, the RX100 is an excellent camera. If you want something small and pocketable, then it's the best that I've seen. I have the first RX100 and it's brilliant. The RX1 is a big step up in image quality and optics, but you're limited by the fixed lens on it.

It's sadly not possible to do individual orders with really any of our EPLA shirts. Washing and (especially) dyeing is prohibitively expensive for a single unit. I mean, we could run it as a sample, but you'd be looking at nearly a $250 retail on it.

The issue is that both washing and dyeing have their own fixed charges. You pay a set fee for a wash, which could have 1 shirt or 100. You have to pay to have a dye bath set up, and then you can also do either 1 or 100 units in the same batch. Over a large quantity washing and dyeing is inexpensive, but start to cut the production and it really increases the unit price.

THAT SAID - these OD oxfords are going to blow you guys away. They are absolutely phenomenal, and I'm confident that they'll be the absolute best pieces on the market for anywhere near $110. I think that they'll be a hit and we'll quickly get a critical mass of guys who own the shirts and are interested in getting more. So, it's entirely realistic for us to do a group buy concept where we order into a special color - and with that, we can easily accommodate XS, XXL, and even XXXL pieces.

We'll be able to do that with this run too. I'm going to get dye tests of each color that we ordered. When they arrive, I'll shoot some pics and put them here. If anyone wants to tack on an XS or XXL, just let me know and we'll order it for you.

Glad to see that the MKII is still going strong!

Mike, question for you: I've never been fitted for any of your jackets.  I have the issue you describe about popping the chest buttons, but with an XL Epaulet shirt.  Basically, everything fits well, neck, sleeves, waist, length, but the chest is slightly tight, and I feel like some of the buttons may pop off.  Do you think an Epaulet 42 jacket would fit, or would I be better off with a 44?

Thanks!

Hmm, good question. I don't think a 44, but its possible that you'd need a 43. If you have a sportcoat that fits you well now, you can send us some basic measurements for that and we can try to hammer out what your size would be. Matt can help you out with that.

Yes, we had to for the first run of French Work jackets - the fabric wasn't available. But I'm sure that it will come back in stock and we can run it down the line. I believe that Adele still built in a unit for you though :)

We're working on the Fairfax jean was we speak too - hopefully we can have that ready in 6-8 weeks for the first delivery
Guys here can chime in, but I'm infamous for wearing cotton Rudy trousers with polo shirts every day. I think that they make a brilliant casual piece, especially with the way that duck canvas ages with wear.
Oh sorry to be confusing: LBM 1911 will not be available for MTO.

There's two lines coming from that company. LBM 1911 is their off-the-rack, more casual line where nearly everything is washed and garment dyed. This washing process makes it basically impossible to do individual orders as you need a minimum quantity of pieces to justify the set up prices.

Luigi Bianchi Mantova is made at an entirely separate factory, and is a tailored clothing manufacturer. Like Samuesohn and Corneliani. We created an exclusive fit with them (like we did with Samuelsohn) which will speak very well to the sizing and cut of LBM1911. The pieces are canvassed, tailored jackets which are not washed or dyed. As such, they can be made as single-unit MTO's. The cut is really gorgeous and LBMantova sources some of the most interesting fabrics that I've seen. It's going to be brilliant.

You rarely see LBM 1911's in long sizes because they require retailers to order them a season ahead of time. You'd have to have a ton of demand for longs to commit to stocking them. Unfortunately, we don't have many guys who are interested in them. But we're able to accommodate longs via MTO orders in Samuelsoh, Southwick, and the new Luigi line, so they'll be a huge amount to choose from if you're in the market for a Spring coat.
Haha, I knew that they would be your style! I'm really looking forward to them as well. I'm also happy to say that we placed a bunch of stock orders for EPLA Spring today. Here's what we'll have coming down the pipeline in the next 4 weeks:

Wilshire Jean in White Selvedge, Grey Selvedge, and Indigo Selvedge (restock)
EPLA Overdyed Oxford in Dark Navy, Dark Smoke, and Olive (planned retail of $110)
EPLA Enzyme Washed Shirt in Blue Oxford, Speckled Navy Chambray, and Squiggle Camo (Planned retail of $95 on oxford and chambray, $110 on camo)
EPLA Denim Jacket in Rinsed Cone Mills 14oz Selvedge ($175) and Distressed Cone Mills 14oz Selvedge ($195)
EPLA Crewneck Tee in four new colors: Natural Indigo, Natural Indigo Bleach Wash, Natural Indigo Black Overdye, and Vintage Black (a.k.a. the washed 80's metal Megadeth black)

We are all crazy jazzed about this new stuff. The denim jacket will blow you guys away - it's freaking perfect. The EPLA shirts have a brilliant fit and will be an incredible value. I'm willing to bet that the OD oxford will be best such item that you've ever laid hands on, because I spent way too much on buying the best oxford cloth I could find (which they told me I'm crazy to dye). Our new $95 EPLA wovens will be very comfortable and a rad, more casual alternative to the shirts we put out with Gitman brothers. And the Crewneck tees will come in this collection of rock and roll indigo finishes. This is going to be killer!

We're making good progress on the hoodie too - which I'm working to make the best hoodie that you've ever seen. Lucky that 7 months of living in LA has made hoodies a much more frequent part of my wardrobe. I went from a hoodie novice to a hoodie expert in now time. This thing is going to be freaking boss.

I take it these enzyme washed shirts will be will be long-sleeved button downs, right? Speckled navy chambray sounds as if it ought to cause a stir,

Got my tracking. Looks like my order went through after all.
my take on pleats: I'm not really a fan of standard pleats, and not really a fan of a single pleat either way; I figure go big or go home. A double-reverse pleat can look really cool: or from one of our own members (this guy is in London and had these custom-made, I think by Luxire perhaps?): This would be interesting enough that it could be done in the Walt fit, I would think, and it wouldn't just look like a pleat was added to accommodate a certain fit need. This would be more of a statement and would look unmistakably deliberant. Of course, as with a lot of this stuff, I may be in the minority with my thinking here.
I think you have to be at least 6' plus for this to work...for shorter than that, a single reverse pleat is the most I would do...it just serves to elongate your legs (as its usually in conjunction with a higher rise trouser) which tends to make guys smaller than 6 look like they have no torso at all. Southwick Overstock Pieces

Hey guys,

We compiled a group of Southwick jackets (and one suit) at clearance prices. There are all first-quality pieces which are either samples or mis-cut MTO pieces. With mis-cut meaning that something was off from what the customer wanted (ex. should have been 2 button, sleeves should have been long, etc), but there's nothing wrong with them.

Check it out. There's only one of each piece, but you might find something in there.

The best pieces IMO....

Grey Wool Cash Suit for $500. This is a little over 50% off its original price, and it has the very common sizing of 40R jacket and 32 Walt Trouser

Navy Hopsack Weller for $450. This is in size 39R and will match our Walt Navy Hopsack trousers.

Navy Duck Canvas Daltrey for $300. Size 40R, and will match our Walt Navy Duck Canvas trousers

And somewhere out there on that horizon. Out beyond the neon lights. There must be a size 42R man who can pull this off.....

So is that the complete list, or are there more on the site somewhere?
