With plain suiting fabrics, especially the lighter colors, I'd prefer flap pockets but contrasting buttons. Patch pockets don't break up the body of the jacket...not even a little. For these medium greys, medium brown horn is killer.

The debate rages on! I think I'm going to get flaps
I am wrestling with this exact thought with my navy seersucker suit.

I have several cotton and linen SC's with patch pockets including a partially lined navy textured cotton blazer.

I've seen so many pics of s.s. suits with flaps and they look fine with me.

As a suit and seersucker noob I am unsure.

My understanding is that it was gone pretty much instantaneously...  (My PM about 8 minutes in was not nearly in time.)

That vest is nucking futz. I would wear it for sure. Is Veneto a company? Or is it a product specific to Epaulet? I have 2 Veneto jackets in Blue and Grey.

I seem to recall Veneto but others will correct me.

So I have been lifting for a bit and gained about 20 lbs. Have you guys noticed that depending on the fabric, Walts fit differently in the same size? I usually wear a 32, the flannels fit better. Hopsacks are much tighter. I ask because I want to size up to 33 in Walts.

@Mike I wear 33 in Taylor and Gables and the fit is great. Do you advise sizing up to 33 in Walts for Tropical Wool and Fresco? This is all in regards to the Southwick MTO. Considering getting a few suits. Thanks all.

Semi-related to @badsha's question: has anyone got Southwick Rudys? How's the fit, esp in the waist? I ask because I'm a Walt guy but looking toward Rudys for a linen suit.

So it looks like I'm not going to be able to get to the EP store by Monday to get my measurements for Southwick dialed in. Can y'all do me a solid? Here's my tweed SC from the last SW EFF. It's 44R. Fits well in the chest, but I feel like it might be a hair big in the shoulders. Any advice? Should I go down to 43R for the navy fresco (suit w full lining, normal shoulders)? Or am I imagining things? Also realize this fabric is much thicker than the fresco.

(also, my right shoulder is lower than my left, I have asymmetrical traps and lat development due to spinal condition)

TIA

(pardon messy apartment in background)

Mike........will the SLIM WALT COTTON LIGHTWEIGHT KHAKI TWILL be restocked in a sz 31? If so, is it possible to get them unhemmed?

@Viral unhemmed would have to be MTO, but we can certainly put that through for you. You can do this:

1) Order Teal Italian Cotton Twill with the specs that you want from this item (it's the same price)

2) In the special comments section write "USE LIGHTWEIGHT COTTON KHAKI #1838"

We'll punch it right through and you get to design it yourself. The MTO pant will come unwashed.

@peppercorn78 we can definitely work off of pics, but I'd need them to be from a bit further away and to see a shot from the side. It's best to have someone else take them.

On first glance, your sleeves look good, the body might be a bit short, and the shoulders are big. We can take in the shoulder by 0.5" and lengthen the body an inch (if you need that). I'd need to see a better shot to judge the chest.

@applky the Southwick Rudy is exactly the same as the walt in the waist. We're actually just giving them a different set of MTM measurements to offer additional size in the upper thighs and calves. So you're safe to order if you want some more room on those linens.

@badsha

It's typical for lighter fabrics to fit a bit slimmer than heavier ones. It's not an issue for most guys, but if you're on the very edge of a size or you have a muscular build then it can make a difference.

The Taylor/Gable is the best friend of all time for guys with thicker legs. You can't discount the benefits of those pleats. I've had a personal pants revolution with the Taylor!

And yes, I'd agree to go up to a 33 in Walts for your suit. Always better to have some more room than less.

@tricky, yup we called that collection "Veneto" - the actual manufacturer was named "Waterville"

@Nik Telford absolutely! They're the same price, just indicate "short sleeve" in the comments box

@Wooderson that was the last of the double monks on hand, but let me ask you guys...

I sampled out a killer doublemonk with my factory. It's something that we could put out for about $375. Is this a style you guys would be interested? The Double Monk was kind of shot, killed, and buried by the #menswear bros a few years back, but I'm thinking that it's poised to come back as a normal style without a freaking ton of hype. I still wear them all the time.

@Ambulance Chaser I know that the BlazerSuit is sometimes controversial, but I'm totally with you on this. It's exactly how I would order it. The Midnight Fresco is very close to the dark navy hopsack that Southwick runs for it's basic Brooks Brothers navy blazers, so there's no issue with matching this jacket to other trousers. I think that this design affords you the most versatility, and it will still look entirely presentable as a 2-piece.

Took a pretty photo of the Saffiano Derby being worn. I'm in love with this last. I need to find a good name for it.

@cyclohexane - Sony A7RII with the new 85 1.4. I think that this is shot at 1.6 or so.
