I think the GMTOs and these distinctive leathers are really going to be where it's at. Yes, the semi-exotics, but even more so things like Saffiano and that calf with different colors available, and a choice of colors of suede. There's a lot of value in being able to pick a leather and color that fits what we need, rather than looking at a perpetual stock selection and wondering if we need another brown/black/snuff suede/etc. shoe/boot.

I can't see why it wouldn't be as successful as the sneakers.

And I'll just throw this out there, though it's probably for much later in the development of this line (if ever at all), but I love those boots with a canvas shaft and a leather lower half. That could be awesome with suede or kangaroo or that beautiful calf skin as the leather combo.

Hope the fit on these works as well for me as the Calgary bluchers.

@FrankCowperwood thank you!

Great minds think alike on this - I've already got a lace-up boot in development with an inset shaft. That way it's easy to create a two-tone style with suede/canvas/whatever on the top and something else on the bottom. Really fun for GMTO's especially. My initial sample was okay but it needs another round of pattern work. I think that they'll nail it the second time around and I can show you guys.

I can also tell you guys that I'm working on a real exotic MTO program with these. The factory can deliver a single pair in 12-16 weeks, but it has to be a hand-cut exotic leather. So lizard, ostrich, crocodile, alligator, etc. I'll run a gator, croc, and lizard sample in the Jodhpur to have pics. They're a huge range of leathers to choose from too. Not everyone's thing, but I think that it's a rad project for offer for guys who are into it. And they do BEAUTIFUL work with exotics.

@notwithit yeah, the Blake would be a good spot for it. We'd have to run a color like that as a GMTO honestly - I've tried doing Milkshake suede with Alden in the past, and it was hard as hell for me to pull off. The color is just too hard for most of our customers. But if we got 12 guys together who wanted it, then we could get that though. And the blake boot has a really accessible price point.

Rad. Hopefully enough other people will recognize the brilliance of this plan to make it a reality. And agreed, the price point is excellent.

Mike, love the shape of that PTB. Really like how the seam along the side sweeps further back than say, an Alden Dover or Carmina's similar PTB. And the toe looks sleek without being too aggressive. The Dainite closed channel sole also looks cool as hell. My vote would be for a navy suede, or a grained calf. That expanse of leather on the toe is just calling out for an interesting leather. Plum museum (as you mentioned to someone else) would also be rad (ica).

Jodphur Saffiano MTO!

Mike what is the best way to reach you during the week? Just wanted to confirm some details on my EFF jacket.

I like the PTB and Jodhpurs a lot. If I didn't already own a pair of Jodhpurs, I'd be all over the sand suede version. However, am I alone when I say that I prefer the keeper on the side vs the front?

I'm going to be holding out for the GYW Chelseas!

@MSchapiro email to contact[at]epauletnewyork.com and put Attn Adele in the subject line - she's doing all of the Southwick wrangling this week

Poor Adele. She must be losing her mind with all our post order tweaks!

The PTB and GYE Chelsea boots look amazing. Jodhpur boots are dope too but it's not a look I feel I can easily pull off. Crazy how much stuff keeps on rolling out.

Sorry to distract from the GYW discussion, I really love the Jodhpur and/or Chelsea in an exotic leather...but on to my question regarding Southwick EFF. What would you all suggest in terms of button selection and pocket choices for the following fabric? Assuming these are full suits that are meant for a medical environment in Southern California. I'm tempted to experiment with lighter button on the lighter color fabrics, but convention (and a good friend) suggested black horn or smoke MOP buttons to be safe.

Guabello medium grey
Midnight navy wool fresco
Charcoal wool fresco
Marine blue nailhead
VBC grey sharkskin nail head

Thanks in advance!

@Gambletrade thank you sir - great choices!

Ah.. not quite.. it's going to be more like this...

Mike, I asked the question about the doyle and you come back with something even better, this jacket is exactly what I need!

As for the shoes, they look amazing! The saffiano PTB reminded of this oxblood prada bag that I thought would look nice but the plum museum calf sounds even better.

You know what the consumer wants more than the consumer, that's a very good trait to have

Co-signed for that new jacket shape too. If it's anything remotely close to what Mike posted I'm in.

The new footwear does look really promising as well. I'm tempted by the PTB for sure. There's almost too
much good stuff coming that it really makes it hard to decide what to budget for haha.

@zennypoo

All of these fabrics are SoCal friendly. The frescos are lighter than the other stuff, but the other stuff is well within the weight of a typical suiting fabric. Great choices all around!

If I was choosing your buttons and wanted to play it safe:

Guabello medium grey (Tan Horn U6)
Midnight navy wool fresco (Brown Horn U3)
Charcoal wool fresco (Black Horn U1)
Marine blue nailhead (Brown Horn U3)
VBC grey sharkskin nail head (Smoke MOP 34)

@OdusBK thanks man, I try!

Yeah, I think that this jacket will work, assuming that we can make it. I've taken the requests for a linen or wool Doyle very seriously, but our current production spot in LA ain't the place to do it. They work really well with tough cottons and wash effects, so I trust them to make an ass-kicking moleskin version.

Southwick can work great with finer cloths AND they have a ton of inventory in it. Since I have great access to them, it should be possible for us to get competitive pricing on these items and put out something really special. We're going to get cracking on it ASAP

@tricky this has to be your style, but IMHO you could rock the living hell out of the Jodphur boots!
