Haha. Did not know how strongly this group felt about yoga outfits.

When I was trying on a pair of boots today, I was sitting next to a couple, where the wife or gf talked the guy out of getting both the Ironside Alt Weins and the Ironside Indys. Crazy. And by the way, the overwhelming majority of women walking around the Brooklyn neighborhood were wearing head to toe yoga/althleisure wear. Really tiring and cliche'd.
Wore mine all winter - perfect dressy casual shoe to me. Wore them with jeans and chinos.

For a minute I thought you were talking about wearing your yoga pants all winter...

Had a nice time at the sample sale today. Must have been too late for the Indy boots, were they in the back? I got in line about 11:20 or so. Grabbed one or two things. Worth the 2200 miles I came to get here.

Envious of the sale-goers today. Staring down the ironside alt weins in my cart right now mentally going through the same exercise of "now, just what can I wear this with?"

I got to the sale around 4:30. By that time, the store looked like it had been ravaged by a horde of Epaulet-loving locusts. Briefly thought about buying a pair of chelsea boots on a crepe sole, then thought they were too similar to a pair of boots I already owned. Rather proud of my restraint.

Interesting observation..........I felt the same way. This part of Brooklyn was so gentrified.......couldn't distinguish real from the phony.

That's probably what somebody will be saying about your part of Jersey City in another few years.

JC is already hugely gentrified and isn't stopping.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I think you can tell by looking at the bottom of the button side of the shirt placket. All the Gitman shirts I have (either the "Ashland" incarnation or the more recent xGitman shirts) have a label in that location giving the material composition and washing instructions, whereas the New England shirts don't.

I was trying to slightly delicate but yes. But I don't really know that's it's for us to be complaining about gentrification here. Also, personally, I think Carol Gardens/Cobble Hill is a great place.

Well said. Really bummed the Brooklyn store is closing--had so many nice conversations with those guys there over the years. For a business that relies so heavily on online sales, they sure made it nice to go to the store.

On the other hand, that sale turned up an overdyed indigo LBM jacket that has apparently had my name on it since like 2014... You win some, you lose some.

For anyone still thinking about making the trip, word from the wise is that today is sock day.
