Excellent. That style looks fantastic in slimmer cuts; some of my favorite jackets from Lanvin, Burberry (2), Saint Laurent (2), and of course Margiela fit right in. I'm also a huge fan of Acne's Oliver, but that's quite a different style.

FWIW, I've often thought there's a surprising lack of point-collared racers in slimmer cuts...Saint Laurent and Burberry both have excellent renditions, but the style seems almost exclusively relegated to more traditional cuts more often than not.

Anyway, pardon the self-indulgence. I know you guys have got the design end under control, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out.

On another note, that A1 looks really sharp. No polo suede on that?

I will post NSFW pics once mine arrive.

Really sharp @FrankCowperwood - I like the look with those boots too!

@Callusing yup, I'm thinking right along the lines of those first pieces that you posted.

We've carried stuff like this before from Schott at the $650 level, but it wasn't quite right. The fit was a little sloppy and long, there were more seams than there needed to be. A leather cafe racer obviously works with jeans, but I want something that's refined enough to work well with Walts and Aldens as well.

Our Thedi product ticks that box, but $1200 is out of the price range for most guys. And Thedi really makes the best leather jacket anywhere. This is intended to work alongside that product. It delivers similar comfort and versatility, but at a much more accessible price and a less exceptional leather and make. It should be the best piece on the market for its price though.

@eljlakers I'm with you, we're grey all the way.

its a very unique fabric. I run extremely warm and this felt super comfortable after a long day at work (when i just want to put on basketball shorts and a tee)
Your gonna love it man!

@avsmusic1
the snuff/tobacco color that you see there is the only one that will be offered. I thought about Polo, but this is the most versatile color IMO

Very random question - any chance of including the gas mask pocket on the chest of the MA-1? It's one of those little details that I really like but most makers pass on.

@notwithit I hear you - I've actually been going back and forth on this with myself.

I personally really like it, and I can see how it's usable. However, I also like how minimal the shape is without it. Ultimately I'm trying to make a perfect MA-1 style leather bomber, not really a repro of an actual MA-1

What do you guys think? The gas mask pocket is the vertical one running alongside the zipper:

Ours would be big enough to fit a phone, so it would have a practical application

EDIT - found that photo via Google images, I didn't realize that it's a TOJ piece. My apologies if that opens up any lingering wounds with anyone!

Leather jackets are sounding amazing at the state price point. I would only be in if they were brown, however.

I think blue is the sleeper hit here. Blue boots/shoes are totally versatile with any traditional neutrals and suiting colors, and I think it looks the best when there's a bit of variation like there is with the museum calf.

Those gold sneakers are magnificent, though.

+1 for gas mask pocket.  Loved it on the TOJ's...haven't seen it elsewhere.  I think EP should do it :)

Quick point of clarification - are we talking about one color for each jacket or one color for all jackets? My personal bias is toward black for an MA-1, brown for an A-2, and either color for a cafe racer (although I'm probably only in for the MA-1 personally).

One color for all. I have to do about 70 jackets in total.

That said, the number would be skewed by style. The vast majority would be MA-1's and Cafe Racers, as those are seasonless styles that we could easily sell in the early Spring if there's stock left over from Fall. Even with Thedi, we sell these styles better in Black than Brown.

I'd probably prefer the A-2 to be in brown, but it's also rad in black. I might do something like 12 units there as it has a quilted interior and really only works in colder months. A black A-2 with murdered out shearling is very cool and fairly rare, and I think we'd still find 12 dudes who want it for about $675.

@Callusing I love the blue museum calf. Navy often goes so dark that it's nearly black, but these are perfect. It's a punchy color in the right way.
