Not "dainty" at all though. Would go great with everything from jeans to a suit while traveling.

Agreed.  I think clandestine operations is an apt description.  It's not as dainty as the EG Galway, for instance, but also not Rick Grimes zombie apocalypse survival wear.  It lies somewhere in-between.  Who knew that space even existed but leave it up to Mike to have found it.  All this talk is making want one in gunmetal.  Damn wallet.

Kicking myself for not getting on the pre-order for the Chelsea's.... any idea if / when they'll be available to the fools who slept on the pre-order?

That's the exact one I picked up. Pretty excited for it.

I have a chamois barrie lasted Alden for all my zombie apocalypse needs anyway.

As a Marine, this made me lol. lol8[1].gif

I always enjoy a good dig at the (ch)Air Force.

Okay, that was a very tough decision. After debating all weekend between the navy or gunmetal combat boots, just ordered the gunmetal. But damn, every color looks great. I can't wait to see all the finished styles.

Sounds like the Gunmetal may be close to sold out....  Just a hunch

Combat Boot sizing follow-up -- thanks for the sizing guidance, Mike!

I take an 8.5 in the Tennis Shoe, and was thinking of ordering the Combat Boot in the 8.5 as well.  Only slight concern is that for the Tennis Shoe, it's a bit narrow in the toebox for me -- I use a larger shoe tree, and through wear, it's stretched to accommodate.

Based on this, any potential fit issues with the Combat Boot width?

By my eye, it's the same niche that Saint Laurent has hit with their Ranger Boots. And Ranger Boots look damn good with just about everything.

I'm borderline 8E Brannock and find the tennis lows too narrow. The combat boots are comfortable so far with medium socks. I'd say stick with 8.5.

On another note, bad weather today but staying warm in my EP moleskin rivets.

lifeinabox - awesome - thanks for the fit guidance - placed my order, and went gunmetal combat boot as well - just seems like a perfect combination -- really excited about this!

Great fit too btw - what jacket are you wearing?  (Although, in consideration of our East Coast and Midwest friends, I think we Los Angeles people should be a bit careful about throwing out the term "bad weather" to describe our context these days....)

Well, gunmetal seems to be the run away favorite.

I've read two posters ordering gold.

Haven't read any mocha, Navy or plum yet.

Who's ordering other colors?

Plum combat boots were an insta-kop for me. Brilliant concept Mike, can't wait to see them in person!

I was close to Navy. Navy would be really awesome too. Already had a pair of plum boots from Carmina.

I dont think you can go wrong with any of the colors.
