Ditto. I went with an 11.5 based on the sizing recommendations for the previous combat boot. I'm an 11 in a Barrie and a 10.5 UK in Carmina soller.

I'm likely in the extreme minority, but I may do the runner in gunmetal.

Good call.  I like the contrast with the white sole rather than gum.

Speaking of which, @Epaulet can we request a different sole on the other models?

Good lord that Gunmetal trainer is sweet.  I'm leaning towards it in a Combat Boot but keep coming back to that trainer

I don't have any experience with combat boots, so I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question...given the side zip do you actually use the laces/tie the boot? or are they more for show?

I use the laces to dial in the fit. After that is done, I just use the side zip to take them on and off. It's quite nice really, because they're so easy to put on and take off that it spoils you a bit when using non-zipped and laced boots.

Hey Mike how does the Combat boot fit compared to the runner? Because I remember the hi's, full court, and tennis were a little too narrow for me. The runner and GATs were good though but I'm worried about the toe box and width of the combat boot. Thanks

I managed to screw up sizing on my new sport trainers or this is just how this shoe fits me or it needs to break in but leather folds and digs into the base of my left foot toes. Pretty painful. Hopefully insoles will fix this.

Can you please provide sizing advice for the combat boots? Do you have any combat boots in stock on the LES to try on?

Hey guys,

Thanks for all of the preorders - our Ilcea project is going gangbusters! These styles came out incredible. I'll roll out some videos and additional content in the next few days as well.

I'll answer some sizing questions below, but a few quick notes:

1) Most people take the same size on all of these styles. So if you already own a trainer and want a different style, then I'd advise ordering the same size

2) The Sport Trainer (GAT), Full Court High, and Running Trainer can work for guys who take a wide fitting. It doesn't mean that they're too wide for a medium, but they can open up more than the other shapes. If you take a wide, I'd stick to these three styles only.

3) Certain colors of museum calf have more contrast and "museum" effect than others. Gold and Gunmetal show the hand-dyed effect the most. It's pretty visible on Navy and Loden. And it's very subtle on Mocha and Plum.

4) There's quite a few strains of Radica (Museum Calf) on the market. Our leather is the real deal from the actual Ilcea tannery. Their skins are softer and finer and pricier than the competitors. These sneakers are radiant in person and the leather is very supple. Unless the vendor specifically says "Ilcea" as the source, then you're not getting the original museum calf used by the likes of John Lobb, Edward Green, Carmina, etc.

Okay, and now from my side:

I'm an 11D Alden Trubalance, 11 Sperry, 44 Common Projects, 12 Nike/New Balance.

Thanks

You're going to be either 11 or 11.5. Given your Sperry and CP sizing, I think that you could do an 11 in the Sport Trainer (GAT). I'd advise an 11.5 in the Tennis Trainer or Combat boot to be safe.

@lifeinabox not this time, we're just using the soles as shown

@rydenfan not dumb at all - you can indeed use the side zip to get in and out. I generally use it four or five times that way and then freshly lace them up.

@L.I.T. the Combat boot is a true medium last.  I know that you needed a wider fitting, so I'd advise sticking with the GAT, Runner, or Full Court

@bry2000 we're totally sold through on them, but we can fit you on the Tennis Trainer. Whatever size you take in those you're going to take in the Combat Boot. The Chelsea boot was on the same last - I think that you preordered a pair of those, right? I'd advise the same size as on that. And we'll have a full set of samples to see in person as of tomorrow.

Received the EFF Harris Tweed Olive Marl, and the EFF Russet and Royal Windowpane Flannel today. The Olive Marl is heavier than I had expected, and hopefully will get to wear it this year. The Russet and Royal Windowpane is lighter than I expected, and will definitely wear it into the springtime.

3 of 5 received, awaiting the lighter weight jackets now - Loro Piana Navy w/White Windowpane and the Bright Blue Large Pique (ordered as a Double Breasted w/white MoP buttons)...

Got the call that my EFF SC is ready! Looking forward to picking it up next week, and getting fitted for the museum trainer, if the stock isn't sold out by then frown.gif
