What mid to light grey (not too light) wool trouser MTO spring fabrics would you recommend for Taylor cut?

I am going to go with the REDA charcoal most likely and need a lighter grey for a 2nd trouser..

@clarksdb My top choices would be REDA Silver hopsack (8400) for the Light Grey and Super 130s Tropical Oxford Grey (8283) for the medium one.

@cdecoy sadly no, the mill (Ormezzano) went out of business last year. I really loved that Java hopsack, but we don't have anything like that fro either Hertling or Southwick.

That said, the Soft Bark Super 130s (8281) is a beautiful fabric and on par with the Java Hopsack. The tone is a little bit lighter, but I'd say it could be worn in the same way. This yarn is softer and finer.

@Mr. Six yes, it's in between the Khaki Canvas and a British Khaki. I actually shot a video of it which I'll post up later this afternoon. We're going to build out a whole Medium.com page which shows all of the fabrics that we profiled. We were able to shoot videos of most of them.

Thanks, Mike! I was hoping that there would be a black or midnight blue flannel. Oh well. I like the videos. It's helpful to have a couple of different views of fabrics.

Some more videos for you guys:

End 85 - Tuff Guy Khaki Twill  @Mr. Six

End 83 & End 64: Grey & Lavender Glen Plaid Flannel / Cocoa Lavender Glen Plaid Flannel

End 62 and End 67 - Perfect Worsted Super 120s. If you guys love the cut of the Rivet Chino, then definitely consider this. They're great basic dress fabrics, and it will make up into a straight-up fantastic, conservative trouser. Order it with no outseam taping.

Looks like this question got overlooked...

Asking about the mocha herringbone (72) sample pant

@Epaulet

Just curious, is there going to be a trouser (walt/driggs/rudy) EFF at some point in the future?

Mike, actual questions: the linen fabrics look incredible, but I'm wondering about how they'll wear in the summer in a shape as slim as the rivet chino.

One query: End 48, Streaky & Slubby Blue Linen, the pic says 100% linen, but the dropdown says linen/cotton. I'm wondering which is correct, and how cooling you think it would be in the NYC summer heat. I have another cotton-linen RC from another EFF and the fabric is actually quite heavy (though awesome).

In particular, compared to End 98 Supreme Natural Indigo Linen, or End 41 Blue Steel Slubby Pure Linen, which do you think would be best for dealing with the heat? Obviously linen has a reputation of being lightweight and gossamer etc, but in my experience some linens can trap sweat in a slim shape like the RC, so though the fabrics all look amazing I'm thinking hard about them in comparison to, say, the Blue Oxford Cloth in the cottons section, or a linen/cotton-linen Walt or Driggs MTO. Thanks!

@Epaulet

Mike, sorry to bug, just think this got lost in the shuffle. I'm wondering about that End 48, and in general what direction to go for something for hot summer weather.

I can't vouch for Epaulet, but as someone who lives in considerably hotter and more humid weather than NYC I can say that cotton-linen is a solid choice, but oxford fabrics will (in my experience) wear much, much lighter. If you want the lightest-wearing fabric possible, I'd go oxford cloth. i personally do not like pure-linens due to the itchiness factor. Cotton-linens are about on par, heat-wise, with a lighter weight cotton.

This is based on personal experience and YMMV. When the temps hit 100 with 100% humidity most people down south switch to lightweight cottons, seersucker, and lightweight oxford cloth for pants (when pants are required).

@Epaulet Mike.  Surprised there was no buzz on End 75 - The Dark Camel Cashmere?  Any feelings on that one?

They usually run 2-3 per year. Last one was in Dec. Should be one for warm weather fabrics at some point.

that indigo windowpane silk/linen/cotton blend is calling my name...

the 1625 linen i think was the nantucket linen I bought a bit ago in a previous eff and I can't recommend them enough to anyone out there. They are my favorite pair of pants that I own patternwise.

does anyone know for a finished inseam on the mto, how much fabric is available to let out if necessary?

@Epaulet

I swear I received a confirmation email for a pair of EFF pants (That i believe are now sold out, the one with the cargo pocket detail).. but cannot find the email on my end for my records.

Any chance of searching on your end and re-forwarding? Thanks!!!!!
