@wigglr Glad you're another Oishii fan!

@Epaulet Mike, would you say the Midnight Seed Stitch fabric is a true dark navy, or is there any color variegation in there? Looks fairly similar to the Luigi Bianchi midnight tweed I picked up a few months ago, so just wondering. Also, how's the weight? Wondering how warm I could wear it in our NYC jungle heat.

Last question: is the "unconstructed shoulder" in the EFF the new lightweight Southwick with slightly wider lapels, that you're stocking as a two-button?

Oishii is great. O Ya is a whole other level though (price abd food, lol) like the French Lanudry of Japanese food

If you can get past what it costs it one of the best meals of your life. But easily $400 a head (sans booze)

Epaulet kicks and Reigning Champ

Hi all...I usually hang out in the Alden thread, but Dylan suggested I post here.  I am currently on the list for the Alden Color 8 Brixton boot in size 7.5D.  I've come to realize that I am a hard fit in Alden high boots, so I am looking to transfer my slot to someone else.  All I need is my $200 deposit refunded via PayPal, and then Dylan can substitute your name for mine on the list and you can finish the transaction with Epaulet when the boots arrive.  I would expect the boots to ship within the next few months, but as all you Alden fans know, this can vary widely.  Please reply by PM...thanks,  Scott

@smmrfld If I wasn't already on the order, I'd jump all over that.

EP popover for a day of errands.

Don't remember that popover but it's great. Can't get enough of EP popovers.

Nice timepiece with the fleece onesie! Love the Reigning Champ hoodie (or just fleece zip-up?) especially.

Right, totally different places -- the Oishii in Chestnut Hill is just a tiny sushi bar. (And I'm not talking at all about the South End Oishii, which is mediocre in my experience.) But absolutely O Ya has been on my radar. However, Tim Cushman opened up a New York location of O Ya this past summer and it got very tepid reviews, so I haven't been rushing to either. Maybe the original location is on a whole other level?

Also important to note that New Yorkers are getting extremely suspicious of long-form tasting menus (good Grub article on that here), and our suspicion of omakase really dates back to Sifton's removal of Masa's fourth star almost five years ago now. Not trying to pit Boston versus New York or anything; it's just that when the entire post-recession food scene has been devoted to everything prix fixe, you start looking for other things. I'm totally willing to believe that the Boston O Ya is the perfect fusion of California cuisine (the French Laundry comparison) and precise omakase, though!

Double breasted corduroy suit ordered! (along with baby camel hair jacket) icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I just took one last look at the one-of-a-kind single fabrics and damn that Rolling Thunder!

Just placed an order in the shop for single breasted olive wale corduroy.  breast welt pocket/ open patch, surgeons cuffs, and horn buttons. :)

@applky thank you! It's a hoody which I always gravitate to.

I spent half of high school wearing Adidas and Puma suits and now I've come full circle with several RC tracksuits. I'm definitely going to become this guy when I'm old...guaranteed.

Placed an order yesterday for that precise item! (Just without the surgeon's cuffs.) I went with the unconstructed shoulder. Interested to see how that turns out with a cotton fabric. Which horn?

Also, there are way too many POWs, glen checks, and other large checks hanging around the EFF, especially the one-of-a-kind section. My wool-cashmere glen check sport coat is one of my most worn. A deceptively easy wear both with solids and patterns, since it's such a unique pattern in itself.

EDIT: also, so baller...
