Mike - soliciting some advice on sizing:

My existing suit fits me great off the rack - it is a Ralph Lauren Black Label Austin fit - 38 Short. Didn't have to alter it at all, even the sleeves.

Based on this, do you think I should order a 38 for Southwick? And would you suggest a regular sleeve length? Thanks!

I am looking not for a true navy but maybe a shade or two lighter than that but still work/interview appropriate.

@abidj definitely the Navy Cav Twill. It's an absolutely gorgeous fabric. The twill is pretty subtle and the color is a perfect deep blue. No problem wearing this in any professional setting whatsoever. The fabric is stunning.

The Seed Stitch is very cool. It's definitely a sportcoat fabric, but would make for a beautiful textured suit. It's great as separates. Not quite as good for a conservative setting as the Navy Cav Twill.

And I'm not sure if you're into the Loro Piana Navy Windowpane, but that fabric is gorgeous. Would probably be about $1300 as a full-price MTO. You have to like the pattern though.

@badsha no worries dude, I didn't see that exact fabric though. Most of the older FF styles were true ends, and we worked through them all. The "Nightshade Express" is the closest thing to it now.

And I hear you on the video! I actually want to start doing much more of that. Just as long as you guys can deal with my Long Island accent. We had major connection issues with wifi, so I couldn't get anything to upload.

That's actually a nagging issue with these factory visits. The connection usually sucks, and it slows everything down. We're often at the mercy of their wifi because the cellular signals are rough.

But I will definitely do more videos through Instagram to show off new products. The 15-sec restriction is nice there too, as no one wants to hear me talking for 5 minutes.

Sorry for the crappy, heavily filtered photo. Now I'm anxious to go home and check the material more closely to see if it's the same.

@Michigan Planner definitely looks pretty similar! The exact color tones may be different though. That check is a standard design, but it can be composed of different colored yarns from one season to the next.

@Sudonihm it's a medium weight flannel, so it's a bit lighter than the typical flannel/tweed pant that we run. Something like late Sept through early May for wearability in New York. The fabric has a nice brushed hand to it - really handsome pattern too. It's a nice mix of brown tones.

The fit's a good start - if you can wear RLBL then our jacket won't be too slim on you. I think that the overall shape will work great.

Hit me via email with four measurements:

1) Chest (laid flat pit to pit)

2) Shoulder (laid flat on the back, shoulder seam to shoulder seam)

3) Length (laid flat on the back, from the top where the collar meets the jacket to the bottom of the tail)

4) Sleeve (shoulder seam to cuff)

We can then use that to match things up and get them in line as much as possible. I'm thinking that you'd probably be a 38 chest, but I'm not sure where RLBL puts their sleeve and body length

@hooker4186 they definitely look pretty similar. I imagine that the blue cast in your photos is just from the lighting, but just note that Raiders Herringbone has no blue in it at all. It's a very dark charcoal that's nearly black with medium grey contrast yarns running through it.

Charcoal overshirt and new green twill Garands. Not visible is natural veg tanned belt. Wearing my whole Epaulet order in one outfit!

I believe Mike stated they were slated to start being shipped by the end of this week or the beginning of next.

@Epaulet I was thinking about this as I don't have any loud suits, but how much do you think it'd look like a clown costume? And just following up on a question earlier about the onyx as a nice conservative business suit....thoughts?

The lightweight category is still coming?

@Dillardiv haha, one man's clown costume is another man's "Pitti Uomo"

It's definitely bolder than a basic navy suit, but I think it's quite wearable. Makes for a brilliant odd sportcoat too. This will make up more or less like this:

I don't think it would look clownish at all. I've owned a few windowpane suits int he past and really liked them. I'm betting that Loro Piana fabric is especially lovely too (great finish/hand) which will add an element of formality to the suit

Yup, I've got a category for that - just ran out of time today. Look out for it tomorrow morning. Most of the fabrics have pretty good stock counts, so no rush on things
